Swim
  • 32m 13s
  • 1500 meters
  • 02m 09s / 100 meters
Comments:

Was not as prepared as I thought I was. Had a hard time staying st straight. Need to improve my sighting. Because of sighting and staying straight I probably swam 150 to 200m more. Also, the water was pretty cold. Had some cold pockets. Next time I would like to use a wetsuit.
What would you do differently?:

Use a wetsuit and get some lessons.
Transition 1
  • 02m 14s
Comments:

Would have been faster if I did not feel dizzy. Had to sit down to put shoes on since I was dizzy. Took some Gatorade down before I headed off.
What would you do differently?:

Not been as dizzy.
Bike
  • 1h 13m 50s
  • 24.85 miles
  • 20.19 mile/hr
Comments:

Felt I rode pretty fast. Made up some time after my bad swim. Passed quite a few people especially going uphill. Also, got passed by some individuals on really nice bikes.
What would you do differently?:

I think I did a pretty good job. Might look into getting aero bars.
Transition 2
  • 01m 13s
Comments:

Switch Showes really fast. Took a slip of Gatorade and was on my way.
Run
  • 58m 1s
  • 6.21 miles
  • 09m 20s  min/mile
Comments:

Took about 1.5 miles for my legs to adjust from the bike to the run. In the first mile and a half probably walked for 3 minutes. Pace was slow until the last 2 miles where I was probably around 7.2 mph.
What would you do differently?:

Need to put more training time into running. I feel that I could take about 13 minutes off my time if I train hard!
Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster:

Need to put in more training. However, I felt I did pretty good for putting only 2 and half months into all the areas. If I can keep my training up and work on technique with swimming and endurance with running I think I could improve my time to around 2:35.

Event comments:

USA Production did a great job with the race. The only problem they had was with the timing for the bike section. However, it was pretty easy to figure out what time I came in at.
