Comments:

Great swim. I decided to go hard and straight to the buoy (I usually swim wide to avoid the crowds) This meant I had to swim over the backs of a couple people who were heading straight out instead of at an angle to the first buoy. I really liked swimming in the lake. Water wasn't gross at all. I felt strong and could see a few yellow caps in front of me for about half of the time. Then I just focused on the swim finish banner. I didn't know I did so well until my daughter showed me the video. yay!

Nothing.
Transition 1
  • 02m 53s
Comments:

My bike was on the first rack when I entered transition which was great. But this is the first time I had a hard time getting the arms of my wetsuit off. It must have been because I was tired. It took me a bit of time to get my socks on. I need to learn to run/bike without socks for these short races. I even ran with my bike out of transition.

Comments:

Hilly course. Even though it was a short course, I was under prepared. I have not spent enough time/effort training on the bike and it shows by my pace. There were a few hills where I was crawling up at around 7-8 mph. They weren't hard enough to justify that slow of a pace. There was a nice long downhill where I got up to 35 mph which was fun.

Comments:

Not bad. I was fussing with my watch and that wasted some time.
Run
  • 30m 33s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 09m 49s  min/mile
Comments:

My legs were fairly strong for once. The course was tough, though. The path was uneven, dusty, and had slippy short up and down hills. My ankle was hurting pretty bad and then about half way through the run it radiated up to my knee. I was worried that I would have to stop. I passed dad about halfway through the run but was to tired to pull away fast. The final 100 yards I sprinted with a guy across the finish line and it felt so good.
What would you do differently?:

Still need to get faster. My pace was s-l-o-w!
