Went out too fast and got clobbered. Got nailed so hard in the head that I lost my balance. Needed to get myself together and wound up breast stroking until I calmed down. Navigated poorly as well.

Went well enough on a very crowded course. New Garmin was messed up so I had no data during the race. Just kept telling myself to push it.

Learn to use my 910XT correctly.

Got some food and drink and cooled down a bit.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

My swimming sucks. I also realized that I like going long more than these sprints.

Event comments:

Well run event despite some challenging weather the night before. Will be curious to see how the new owners handle the race.

The size of the sprint field has dropped dramatically in the last 2 years. AG size in 2010 was 270 and in 2012 it was only 79 participants.
