  • Comments: I came off the couch 3 and a half years ago, lost 20 kgs and then fell in love with the sport of triathlon. I have seen my health and my performance consistently improve since then. Today was the culmination of all that effort. With three IMs and two HIMs under my belt today was the day that all my ducks lined up in a row. For the first time ever, in the days leading up to the event, I said to my wife I felt as though I was racing the event, not just participating. I also did not feel an imposter when I went to the roll down and took a slot for the 70.3 world championships. I also recognize that none of this would have been possible without the support and encouragement of my wonderful wife.

  • Comments: I have promised my family I will not be doing another long course again soon so this will be my last. I love the training not the time it takes to do it. I love the events but again the time is hard. Other then that I would do it again.

  • Comments: Awesome volunteers and Busso locals make this the best race I've ever done. Managed to catch up with Magda on the Tuesday, before I flew back home, which was was great. It was also wonderful to get some sun on my back, given the summer we've had in Melbourne, and typically enough we landed to a temperature of 9C and rain! Next stop, IM time, and have a day to decide whether to do IMOZ next year instead of the Busso half or wait until IMWA in Dec next year......

  • Comments: What a brilliant race. How good was our team time? The event was perfectly organised. Lots of volunteers. Heaps of pre and post race activities. I had a ball. I don't know when I'll be back - chances are I'll be pregnant with our second this time next year. I think it'll be a long time before I can do the full race again, but doing it in a team is manageable and still allows us to participate in this great event. Bring it :)

  • Comments: My First 70.3 Ironman. This event was a massive goal for me, overcame many challenges and obstacles along the way. Can't believe the day had finally arrived and to put my training to the test. I am so happy to have come this far and complete this milestone. The event was run extremely well and I'll definitely be coming back for more!

  • Comments: I had a wonderful experience not just at this race, but after as well. The area is lovely, making this a top "destination race". The negatives? - bad swim start for the women - athletes meeting way too late on the night before the race - especially anyone coming from o/s or interstate who has jetlag to contend with. Actually, my hire car company informed me (not til I picked up the car) that I was not permitted to drive after dusk or before dawn because of the Kangaroo Menace on the roads) Had I heeded this* I would have missed the race meeting. *shh dont tell please - I wasnt too impressed with the race website. Certain information I wanted just wasnt posted until a few weeks before hand. I wouldnt want anything I've said to put anyone off doing this race. I'd be very happy to come back !!

  • Comments: Would just like to say, the volunteers, and spectators at this race are absolutely awesome!!!! A huge thankyou to everyone of them out there cheering all racers on, no matter who they were or how fast they were. The goals I had before the day, in ascending order, were: To finish To not be last To not be last in age group To beat 6:30:00 To beat 6:15:00 To beat 6:00:00 There is no way I thought I was going to break 6 hours, that was my ridiculous goal, so you can imagine how pleased and chuffed I am now with myself for doing 6:02:18 with such a lack of run training! This is the first time in a long time I feel I have really achieved something for me, and means such a lot to share it with you - thankyou for reading! Photo's to follow hopefully...

  • Comments: Awesome event, first HIM I've been to and won't be the last. I'm so inspired and determined to do it next year. After 1 mini-sprint, 1 sprint and 1 swim leg of a HIM, I'm hooked. Will be getting some winter training done now to get in some sort of shape for next season.

  • Comments: The atmosphere is addictive, people lining the streets in support cheering you on. I loved the event, yes I could have gone faster, but I finished it and you never know, maybe I might even give the Ironman a go!

  • Comments: I know Im not fast but I'm super pleased/proud of this race, I was 15mins faster then last year, on all three legs but most importantly I was faster on the run even injured. It was just so much more manageble this year. out on the bike I made the decision to commit to the Ironman at the end of this year. I really love this race the atmosphere is fantastic and its so well run. I was extremly please to cross that finish line and get my finishers towel! I worked hard for that ;) the after party was absolutely brilliant! Not sure what felt worse the next day the hangover or the muscles :)

  • Comments: Loved it.... I set a goal to finnish under 6 hrs, and in my own mind, thought it would be great to come in under 5:40 (but din't tell anyone) to finish in 5:18 with a 5 min penalty was way beyond my wildest dreams... Now that I have done the distance, I think next year I will be aiming for a sub 5 hr finnish.
