  • Comments: Piranha Sports does a nice job with races. Good post-race food offerings, too bad I can't eat right away when I'm done.

  • Comments: The swim instructions were a little confusing at the start, but we all figured it out before we actually got into the water. (The course was only laid out for the sprint, they were going to lay out for the Olympic after our wave, but no one told us that so we couldn't figure out ahead of time what the swim course looked like.) There was a mix-up in the medal delivery so some people had to wait to get their medals mailed to them but the organizers were straight up about it. I didn't come close to medaling so I didn't care too much. Overall I really liked this race and wouldn't mind driving back to do it again.

  • Comments: Very well done, in spite of the horrendous weather conditions. First swim wave was delayed a half hour. That's not their fault. The organizers did a great job trying to keep the event going while ensuring a safe race.

  • Comments: I like this race (I did the sprint last year and olympic this year), but I couldn't agree more with other people about the cost. They either need to increase the post-race events/swag/pre-race expo or they need to lower the cost.

  • Comments: I would like to thank the RD for all of his hard work with this event. He was dealt a real bad hand with the weather but did everything he could to make sure we did a Triathlon and he pulled it off. After finishing the race, I Went over to the food tent and was really dissapointed. They had PB sandwiches, bananas and pizza with no cheese. I didnt want to eat what I had for breakfast again and who makes and serves pizza with no cheese?? Also, nothing to drink besides water, I would have like atleast a gatorade or something. Also, I was pretty dissapointed with our swag bags. I was told we get a shirt and water bottle with our bags but my bag only had a shirt in it. I paid more for this race then any other race I have ever been in and I am not sure what I got for my money. I have paid alot less for other races and come away with alot more. I enjoyed the race but I think it was over priced and you did not get enough for your money. Good experience but I dont think I will ever do one of their

  • Comments: The race itself was well run - and I appreciate that they found a way to hold it even under the poor wx conditions. Plenty of kayaks on the course for safety. If the race were cheaper, I'd have no complaints whatsoever. Given the price, though, I think it lame for them to ask you to pay $20 to upgrade to a technical t-shirt, and a uni-sex one at that. No real "expo" here - just a single tent that didn't have any tri-belts for sale. Minimal food/drink offerings afterward. No massage tent. No music (maybe due to wx?) It's a nice laid-back race, though, and the original bike course looks like it would have been fun and challenging. I love the spectator-friendly viewing (and also that it's held at a park with a playground for the little ones) but think they should either offer a little more swag for the price - or lower it.

  • Comments: Ok first time for a triathlon, but seriously where the hell was the beer truck at the finish. For $100 entry fee I'd like to get a beer or two for heaven's sake. I thought the t-shirt was OK , but there was no other swag / freebies except to advertisements. Maybe I've been spoiled by the Va. Beach Shamrock marathon, and Annapolis 10 miler swag, but this should have been much better considering the price for the race. Other than that the event was run on time and was VERY organized (A++ for CGI on that). Town of North East did it up right. Traffic control was great and lots of Volunteers This is my hometown and it was great doing my first race there! Even saw a few old friends out volunteering on the course.

  • Comments: 'Best race so far' from a strategic perspective. I think taking each discipline separately and focusing on it (instead of rushing through it) really helped. I felt great through the whole race. The acutal race was run great, as usual with CGI Races. Well organized. Great amount of support on the course. I'd definitely do this race again.

  • Comments: I think the NE tri is a great race for people who want fast times or are starting out. The town is nice, it draws a great, happy, healthy looking crowd, is organized well, and has awesome volunteers. I want to do this one again, especially if I get my stuff together for a swim. I would recommend this tri to anyone.

  • Comments: Good race. I thought the run course was a little boring. It would've been cool to run through the town, but I'm sure that was logistically hard to pull off. I wasn't a fan of the slanted shoulder that we had to run on. The food was pretty good. Plenty of water. Volunteers were great. I also liked how this race was a little smaller than some of the other events I've done. It was nice for a change. I would definitely do this race again if it fits into my schedule in the future.
