  • Comments: Ironman 70.3 Vineman is awesome. I have no immediate plans to do another HIM race, but if I do one this will be my first choice.

  • Comments: Only challenges with this race were: 1. lack of shade after the finish (can be remedied) 2. time for shuttle back to T1 to pick up car and then return to T2 to pick up bike. Anyone should avoid the need to do this if they can (hard for race organizers to remedy this, I know)

  • Comments: Overall a great race. I did not like the T2 setup, but understand they had to adjust with the construction at the school. Heard from multiple people that their T2 gear was moved with one person having her shoes moved to a completely different row.

  • Comments: This was my 1st half iron distance. I wish I had gotten in the aero postion for the photographer. I looked so dopey in race photos. In my defense, the road was rough. I had a hard time controling my bike going over the bumps and cracks.

  • Comments: Plenty of unforced errors on this day. But this was my first 70.3 starting line (and finishing line) since open heart surgery, so in reality there is nothing to complain about and plenty to be grateful for! And then the wine drinking began in earnest!

  • Comments: Despite the dearth of on-course toilets and poor hydration packaging on the bike course, this race was great! I can see why it is so popular - the beautiful location and variable course make this really special - truly an iconic race. Thanks to Ironman and the Vineman crew for putting on an excellent event. I feel like I could not have picked a better option for my first Ironman 70.3 experience!!

  • Comments: I've calculated that I took in about 550 calories on the bike when I think I should have been north of 1000. Nutrition was my demise during this race. Although I failed big time on my run, I'm happy with my performance on the swim and bike. I'm hoping I've identified the areas where I need improvement to have a stronger run. I learned a lot during this race. I'm more motivated than ever to hit the ground running and begin training for my next race.

  • Comments: So there you have it. A race I barely cared about lead to my first AG award at a WTC 70.3 and just off the podium. Also a 7 minute PR at the distance which I don't put a lot of stock into because triathlon times are such a product of the course and conditions. I look more towards times and placing over several events as a truer indicator of your ability. We had the MOST epic conditions I have ever raced in. It really set up for some fast times. I do feel for the folks out on course after Noon as the temp literally skyrocketed in a 30 minute period to mid 90's. They had it rough. Gotta thank Wattie Ink and all our great sponsors. Herbalife24, Reynolds Cycling, ISM, blueseventy, Spidertech, Power Bar, TBT, Rudy Project, Speedfil, Hypoxico, and of course 10 Barrel Brewing Co Corporate Sposnors, Kurt Orban Partners and 101 Pipe and Casing, Inc Bike shop sponsor, Wins Wheels. Thanks to Brian Stover of Accelerate3 for these last few years of guidance as my coach. Also thanks to

  • Comments: This race is harder than Oceanside 70.3! Who told me Vineman 70.3 was going to be easier??? I guess they only meant the bike segment? =P I may put this race again on my race calendar next year. :)

  • Comments: So, looking at the data, it's difficult to say if I would have gone faster if I had let up a little on the bike. The power numbers were certainly within an acceptable range and I don't know how fast I could have run even if I soft pedaled the bike. I'm going to lean more towards more run fitness and not letting up on the bike. I've been running a lot and am super happy with the progress I've been making. I just think it's going to take some time before it shows up in a half. I've already seen great progress at the Olympic distance. Speaking of which, AG Nationals is next and I'm excited to see how well I run there. Goal for that race is a top 18 in AG for a spot on the Worlds team. Looking at past results, it will take a really solid performance for me to do that well. I'm ready for the challenge. Special thanks to all my sponsors Wattie Ink, blueseventy, KSwiss, Reynolds Wheels, Scott Bikes, ISM Saddles, Power Bar, Kask Helmets, FuelBelt, 454 Tattoo and Speedfil. Corporate Sponsors

  • Comments: Good race with great volunteers. It lacks some of the vibe of the other larger races mostly likely due to the transitions being 17 mi apart.

  • Comments: Beautiful race through the Sonoma Wine Country, very well organized and with lots of great volunteers. I was travelling with my family and the race was even better than we expected. It is a must do and I plan to do it again sometime in the near future.

  • Comments: overall a great race, I would recommend it for others. I personally am not sure if I would do it again. Just due to the fact that I try to avoid hotter races and I got lucky that the weather was relatively tame in comparison to what it could have been. Had it been 90-100 degrees I would have been hurting much more.

  • Comments: Awesome race! Swim is great. Bike course is beautiful. Run is a little hard, but totally doable. Volunteers were absolutely amazing! The only thing I didn't like is the post-race festivities and the expo. The expo seemed sparse (I've had 5K races with better booths and freebies). The post-race was a little lacking. I would've been nice to have volunteers hand you water as you crossed the finish line like they do at other races. Instead I had to find the water on my own, find the cups (which they were low on) and continually walk back to the water jugs to get refills.

  • Comments: I loved their variety of drinks and food at each aid station during the run. The finish line also had a good variety of food but unfortunately the chicken that I got for my chicken sandwich was pretty dry. :( Other than that, I would definitely recommend this race to my friends and I wouldn't mind doing it again to get a faster finish time.

  • Comments: The volunteers at the run aid stations were amazing. I carried one of my bike bottles with me because I am terrible at drinking out of cups. Every time it needed to be refilled I would have the lid off on the way up to aid station and the volunteers would start pouring multiple cups of water into it before I even had to ask.

  • Comments: What a great experience!! But this all wasn't done by myself alone. Thanks to all who helped me prepare for this race, supported me through the process, got me into this race, cheered me on through the race and have given me kudos for my race performance. I am a lucky girl to have all of you...
