  • Comments: Well organized race. Swim and bike portion great but the run portion just gets a "meh" from me. Having an event in a planned neighborhood has it's challenges, Car traffic was an issue, especially during bike segment. Event parking was over a half mile from transition area. The run was dull, mostly in the sun and hilly.

  • Comments: Im not really a fan of this race. I like my courses flat and fast. lot of rolling hills on the bike and the run is the toughest I have done. Packet pickup the night before was a disaster. There are no signs posted telling you where to go and the directions on the website are not very detailed. I don't think I will do this race again.

  • Comments: Didn't like the bike course. May not return next year because of it. A large section of the road was on a very busy 55mph road and the part through the neighborhoods had a lot of slow moving traffic which blocked riders.

  • Comments: Great race altogether. Whether you are a seasoned elite or a beginner just getting into the sport. The location is secluded and provides a safe environment to race. The folks that live in the development are supportive and, I believe for the most part, enjoy hosting the race. Of course there are probably those that want those "dang triathletes" to find somewhere else to race. This race was my first of the season after recovering from a stress fracture through March and April. Spent May and June getting back on track and this was a great opener for me. I enjoyed it immensely finishing with a smile on my face.

  • Comments: I'm really happy with the outcome. Last year I did it in 1:29:23; assuming the competition was roughly the same as last year, by cutting off five and a half minutes, I moved up significantly in all areas (I went from placing 156 to 81 overall mens). I went from the tail end of the meaty part of the curve to the front end of it. I'll take it, and hopefully run with it! I enjoyed this distance and I'd like to get a lot better at it.

  • Comments: Well, I guess its better to crash & burn on a sprint and get it over with then on a longer race and suffer for hours. But I don't think I cooked myself on the bike and I know I didn't try anything new for the race so I'm not sure exactly what happened to me. There's always another race, I reckon. At least I finished in the shade tent and not the med tent.

  • Comments: Overall great experience and if I decide to do a Sprint next year would definitely consider doing this one if nothing else to see if I could improve my time. It was hosted in a housing division and the locals were really great, one couplde were holding garden hoses set up with a rain type nozzle and were hosing off runners at around the 200-300m mark. I definitely took advantage of their service. Was pretty suprised by the time actually (1:15:02) b/c my on paper expectations were around 1:20:00. So maybe my goal was a little too generous but I am very pleased with my race time and my AG top 10 position. If I add the extra distance using my avg run time it would be around 1:18:30 which makes my pre-race prediction much more reasonable. Minus some time for the extra .5 on the bike so back down to around 1:17:00ish. So still great race time vs my pre-race predictions. Another good race by SetUp Events except for the very shortened run, it was a simple out and back and it could

  • Comments: As ever, Setup did a great job with this race. The venue was nice, and the event was well run. I love it that their events are always on time. When they give you a time that something is going to happen (start, awards, whatever), it happens at that time. My one complaint would be: no cookies at the finish. What's up with that? I can eat an orange any time! I want COOKIES!!!!

  • Comments: Set-up does a great job. This was the first time for this event and aside from having to park 1/2 mile away from transition, and the race ending about 1/4 mile from the transition it was a good race. Difficult course but for a sprint they should be.

  • Comments: I would, if I could, give it a 4 1/2 instead of a five. My main complaint was the long walk to transition from the parking area (about 1/2 mile) and the fact the run was on the jogging path instead of the road (which made it hillier and curvier and more crowded). But considering this was the first time the event was held at this location, I think Set Up Events did a great job - as usual. I would definitely recommend this race and plan on doing it again next year. This time, I think I'll train beforehand. ;-)
