  • Comments: So much better than RNR Las Vegas last year, and I would say better than the RNR Seattle race too. I think it is about equal, but different than the RNR Phoenix. Really, Really well organized I thought, although I suspect due to crashes on the free way for the bus ride home, that there may have been some issues getting folks back to the starting line. Net I would do this race again, anytime!

  • Comments: Think it was a good race overall with a nice course that was flat and fast. They advertised that they were going to have stations with GU solutions and only had one with most of it being cytomax which I never tried before and wasnt going to start mid race. I ran with a 4 bottle fuel belt which worked well because i had my own solution. Didnt finish it but depended on it when i needed it.

  • Comments: First year race was under the R'n'R umbrella; I'm ambivalent about the changes. Shuttle was a pain, especially the walk to/from the drop-off points. Course was OK, not much of an improvement over the previous one. Nice to have a band every mile or so, good on-course wupport, etc. We'll probably keep doing it, but the added amenities aren't worth the doubling of the price, IMHO.

  • Comments: water cups are a lot smaller than what I am used to. Volunteers seemed surprised that I wanted 2. Also thrown when I wanted both water and gatorade. But the volunteers were great and I really appreciate all their help!

  • Comments: The course and volunteers were great. They had a Coast Guard helicopter fly over at the start and that was pretty cool. Along the way we saw a guy named Larry, part of the 50 state club. He had done 105 marathons LAST YEAR! Amazing as he was an older guy - late 50s maybe early 60s. He chatted with us for a while then left us in the dust - hahaha. He reminded me of Ironman legend Frank Farrar (except Larry actually made conversation; Frank's the silent type). It was so much fun to run the race with Rob. We chatted a lot and joked quite a bit. It went by so fast. They had aid stations every 2 miles and that seemed to be good enough for a race like this. This was my first race since Disney about 2 years ago and it was fun to get back in to a race environment. The people (organizers, volunteers, and racers) are great - a lot of real characters. Several of the back of the pack racers dressed up and that is always fun.

  • Comments: I really like this race. It is very flat and very well put on. A great early season race in a great city. Should be put on the schedule for a major BT get-together. Since this race is just before or just after the big Mardi Gras festivities, the crowds aren't as big in town, the hotels are very reasonably priced and you can't beat the fun in the city. Great food, great drinks, great times, and a little run thrown in. This is a must.

  • Comments: Well done event. New Orleans will always be a second home to me. We lived there from 91 to 98 and then again from 2001 to 2005. It was great to go back and race with old friends and the post race activities at a New Orleans race are always first class. I loved the new route for the half marathon dispite the bad roads, it was alot of fun. PR by 2:43. I finally broke 2:20 Best overall ranking at this distance by 15% I think.

  • Comments: Dylan finished in 2:09 but now he's in PAIN!!! BEAR finished in 2:59. He'd hoped to finish in under 3 hours and he did! GEAUX BEARS!!! I am proud of you both! Traveled home and picked up the boys from Ma and Pa. They had a good weekend camping. We missed the BT Gang!!! Laurie you would have enjoyed this half! :):):)

  • Comments: Fifth straight year I have done this race, full in 2002 and half every year since. Good, well-organized, crowds were sparser than in past years, city still hasn't recovered by a long shot. Need more water stops.

  • Comments: Ask me a year ago if I'd be running a half-marathon non-stop and I'd have asked you if I could have what you were smoking. Give this race (and this city) another 1-3 years, and it will be in its glory days again. I am very pleased with my race overall, and when the soreness goes away in about 15 days, I'll be ready to do it again! ALL THE RACE PICS ARE IN MY ALBUM!!!

  • Comments: Great event, good to see they jumped through all the hoops to make it happen this year, probably the biggest post-Katrina event to-date. Had runners from all 50 states participating. Course was in good shape and well staffed, still chilling to be running in areas where the water marks (still visible on the houses) were above your head.

  • Comments: Given the circumstances this was one of my favorite races to date. Not to crowded at the start line, and pretty good spectators, expecially in the areas that flooded pretty bad. There was suppossed to be parkingm which there wasnt, and my husband had to drop me off (from the car) at the start line and not see me start the race. No biggy. It was really emotional hearing that people were hear from all 50 states and 18 counties. I always get emotional at these races, and this one was just the same. I highly recommend this race for next year.

  • Comments: Nice to hear that people from 50 states raced today. Enjoyed running in areas that normally can't run due to traffic. Proud to have finished and even prouder of hubby for running the full marathon.
