  • Comments: Well it wasn't the race directors fault that there was lightning and rain so I cannot blame them for the late start. It would have been nice to have more than one water station on a hot day. But overall I imagine it is an easy race and course for real athletes. Just not me!

  • Comments: I liked this race very much not only because it was my first sprint triathlon ever, but the organization and atmosphere as well. The weather and water temperature cooperated to make it an awesome event. I got my closest family cheering up on all parts of the course and it helped a lot to get very good overall result. I definitely will do it again next year and recommend it to others.

  • Comments: Turns out due to the fact that the two top overall finishers were in my age group, I ended up getting a 2nd place age grouper medal (actual place was 4th). Hardware! Due to Technicalities! I'll take it. Overall a great race, I had a great time

  • Comments: This really was a fantastic race! I think next year I'd rather do the Olympic distance as things were just too crowded both on the swim and the bike to really get going. Other than that - it was fabulous! Even more fabulous was getting to meet some other BT'ers that I hadn't been able to meet before. Crowny, you do some good grillin'! :)

  • Comments: I sought out volunteers to thank them for their time. I think that's important. Being my first tri, I have nothing to compare it to, but every wave started on time, there were lots of volunteers, and the course was great. I have a goal for next year's time as well!

  • Comments: I felt really good during and after this race. I remember when I did it for the first time last year. I thought I was going to collapse at the end. Then I went home and slept the day away and was SO sore. This year I felt great. I took a short nap and then enjoyed the day with friends. I definitely improved, but there is still a long way for me to go.

  • Comments: I heart this race. The great thing is seeing all your BT peeps who you don't get to see a lot. Considering the lack of training, the partially collapsed lung, Lindsey passing away...I'll take a 4th place finish in my age group. I think LD and Mom were really looking out for me today and pushed me to that 4th place finish...I hope I made them proud! :)

  • Comments: Overall I was pleased with the venue and the race. I will definitely be back next year. I thought it was well organized and run. Personally I liked the course. Hopefully with some work and experience I will do better next year. I am very pleased with my overall results and my performance for my first race. The race is both mental and physical. I had physical issue so I used the mental aspect to overcome them. Persevere!!!!!

  • Comments: Very well organized and safe race. Course was well marked and not confusing at all. Lake was pleasant to swim in. Transition was very orderly - I wonder how other races will size up to my first one?

  • Comments: mount/ dismount lines for the bike need to be more clearly marked. could have shaved another 17-20 seconds on the bike if I would have been directed where to dismount. volunteers at T2 need to wake up and pay attention to first athletes coming out to the run.

  • Comments: I can't believe I am officially a triathlete. I got a little teary eyed after finishing and was taking my water bottle. Thank goodness it was raining out! I'm very proud of myself and really want to enjoy the moment instead of thinking of all the work I have ahead. During the swim I really didn't think I was going to make it, but by the end I had pulled myself together to enjoy the race. Everyone's advice on this website and especially in my mentor group has helped me get through all of this and want to do it again.

  • Comments: liked the course and the event... it was a little warm out... but not as bad as i was expecting... my reason for doing the sprint was that i wanted to get a long run in yet that day... which i almost bailed on... but did manage to get a 20.5 miler in later that evening... so i figure a 5k PR, hardware and a 20 miler all in the same day makes for a pretty solid day...!!! :)

  • Comments: This is a great venue, and the race is well run and organized. The early start is rough, but worth it to miss the heat. My only complaint is that the swim seemed really long for the Sprint race this year. Which doesn't bother me, but just be accurate on the reported distance. The lead guy who runs the microphone at this race is as good as they come. Keeps everyone informed and keeps the whole thing running smoothly. I foresee doing this race every year.

  • Comments: It is a good race, though I have a couple of complaints. First, they need a larger transition area. It is way too crowded for the number of athletes. Second, I wish they would keep transition open longer before the race starts. It is difficult to get there early enough for adequate set up time, when you have to shuttle in from a remote parking lot. Did not stay for much of the post-race stuff so I can't comment. Also, because of the parking situation most people have to ride their bike back to the remote parking lot while carrying a heavy duffel bag. It is kind of dangerous and I don't think the race organizers spend too much time worrying about that.

  • Comments: It would be nice if they re-routed the sprint swim so there was less of a chance of getting banged in the head. I realize it's all part of the game, but when it's an out & back, and you've got 2 lanes of traffic swimming that closely, and one is swimming blind, you're bound to have injuries...other than that, GREAT RACE!

  • Comments: I heard there was beer somewhere, but never found it. Plenty of fluid, naners and bagels. Great support on the race. Great volunteers. Transition has to be reevaluated to be set up as a far race for all.
