  • Comments: Overall it was a great experience because everyone was so friendly and in good spirits. I thought the event was run very well. Andy himself was at a corner at the biking segments warning riders about a wet spot on an upcoming turn. Kudo's to Andy!

  • Comments: First ever triathlon and first post on BT (I guess I put the "B" in BT). This was also first race for DW so she was along for the ride. I did 2 marathons in the past (15 years ago) and started back up doing 5k's this year. DW is an avid swimmer and finally joined a masters team. The team consists of a lot of triathletes so DW got interested in it. I had wanted to do a triathlon back when doing the marathons but it just never happened so when she got interested I thought it would something we could do together. I know how to swim but I have never swam for distance or speed and the learning curve has been steep. I started 3 months ago as the typical "can't swim 25 yards without being gassed" guy. I can swim the distances now but still have breathing issues. I spend a lot of time (too much probably) on BT reading the swimming threads. Overall we both had a great time. My quote when asked how it went was "It almost killed me...when can I do another one?".

  • Comments: Great race, well organized and always a great turn out. I like this one because it is held twice a year and you get a chance to see how you are improving your run and bike over the race season. This is also the first race that we have stayed around to the very end to watch the awards and prize giveaways. A friend placed in the 40-44 age group so it was cool to see him getting his plaque.

  • Comments: Well organized race that sees a wide range of participants from professionals to first timers. It is a good race for first-timers due to the shorter distances and the pool swim, but be prepared for more heat that races earlier in the season. Since the slowest swimmers start last, if you are not a good swimmer, it will take almost an hour for you to start swimming, meaning you'll be running when its a few degrees warmer.

  • Comments: I loved the bike/run courses. They were very well staffed too. The pool swim was interesting, but it went a lot better than I thought it would.

  • Comments: This was a last minute decision tri when I couldn't get the days off I need for BSLT. Which is a good thing because of my lack of training the last month. I would put this on my list of local tri's to do. I am happy and disappointed in my time. I missed the podium by 1.06 but, happy I beat my goal time by almost 10 minutes.

  • Comments: It was a fun event besides the swim. During the run volunteers had water, gatorade, wet towels, and soaked sponges.

  • Comments: Chanel was a first timer and was very disappointed that they ran out of first timer medals. She was the last one in the pool, the last one out on the bike with the police escort and the cones being picked up behind her, but was able to pass several on the bike and run, so there were others that came in behind her. I think it's very disappointing that the last first time finishers weren't able to get their medals, because to me, they worked harder than anyone to finish.

  • Comments: This is such a fun venue and Andy Stewart puts on a great race. It is just a fun weekend away for us. The course is great for my sixteen year old who is just getting into adult tris.

  • Comments: The field limit for the race was 700 and there were over 80 racers that were DNS (over 10%)!!! I'm sure it was due to this crazy heat wave we've been having. It was 96 degrees when I left the race at 11am. Last year I wanted to beat a time of 1:30 and went 1:30:26. This year I was just hoping to beat my time and CUT OFF 3 minutes and 40 seconds!! I felt GREAT about the race and was really happy with my time and sitting at 50% of my age group.

  • Comments: Overall, I thought this was a great race. The volunteers were friendly and helpful and the course was great. They had a good post-race party with food - including Double Dave's Pizza. I do wish they would add a more centrally located packet pick-up option at least one day and get a different technical shirt (rather than the ones that look like t-shirts).
