  • Comments: I did the race in 2009 in the pouring rain so I really wanted to do this race again. I like the race because it is well organized and has a really good vibe to it. I met some really nice people at this race. It was a nice mix of hard core Tri guys, but also had a good amount of newbies too.

  • Comments: Very good race. Course inspires a lot of confidence. Will do again next year with a goal of top 10 in age group and sub 100 overall.

  • Comments: All in all, this was by far the best race of my short triathlon career. I cut 14 minutes off my time from this race last year. This race represents a PR for a sprint as well as a PR in a 5K. The only thing I could do to get better next year is train hard and get faster in all 3 diciplines. As for the RD's and the race, no water at the finish was a major bummer and no-no in my book. Need to have water at the finish. Only 1 aid station on the whole course, even though you ran by it twice, should have been more, there was more last year. Transition area was very cramped, need to space it out much more. Ovearll though a great local race, super close to home, great course and lots of friends this year. I know this is only the 2nd year for it and the RD's are learning. I will definitly race again next year.

  • Comments: I am very pleased with my overall results. I thought I put in a good effort. Executed my race plan to the T from wake up and breakfast, to transitions, effort level and mental decisions. I've realized i put together a solid training plan for my 1st race and hope to execute all races as I did this one. Could have prepared better for the weather. Next time I will check the forecast the evening before, rather than 3 days out. Overall, I feel great about the race, it was a tremendous experience!

  • Comments: Great event for a beginner. Swim is in the small lake the town uses as its swimming venue, so it's not a murky-no swim lake with no visibility (like Lake Watchung). Water was warm, did not need a wetsuit for warmth, and visibility is about ten feet or so, so you can see the feet of those you are swimming up too. Has real bathrooms and not porta-potties. Bike and run are flat. Too bad about the rain. Only reason I did not give it 5 stars is that there was no event photographer, so if this is you first one, you have no pictures of you on the course unless someone is there to take your picture. Good t-shirt that clearly shows you did a tri.

  • Comments: For my first triathlon - I think everything went great. I know I need to work on my run some more...a 10 min/mile is not great.
