  • Comments: I said yes to plenty of drink stations, but they were very short (not many volunteers per) and super crowded, so I was glad I took my handheld. I usually use that as backup and take aide on the course, but I only hit one water station because I didn't want to have to dodge and weave people. Otherwise, fantastic race!

  • Comments: Well the post-race food took a bit of a dive this year. Last year they had breakfast tacos, but this year all they had was fruit and crackers (packaged). For $100 race, I think they could cough up some food at the end.

  • Comments: Well organized, lots of supporters, fantastic mostly-downhill course with a tailwind. But where were the good treats afterward. Seriously, just cookies and fruit?

  • Comments: This was my first half marathon. It was very well-organized other than the bag dropoff in the AM where the lines were quite long. Plenty of volunteers, plenty of distracting sideline activities during the course. Good spectator support and good tents at the end. Lots of good stuff in the goody bag. T-shirts were kind of an ugly color.

  • Comments: All communication/website were really clear and easy to follow. Could have used more port-a-potties on the course. Luckily, I didn't need to use them, but the lines were long throughout the course.

  • Comments: They changed the packet pickup location to a conference center because they had an "expo" - pretty lame with few vendors. Clothes bag drop-off was terrible. very long lines and poorly managed and staffed. Aid station volunteers were great. Lots of spectators along the route. This is a fun race overall.

  • Comments: This was the 17th year and they really have if figured out. I would prefer water more often, and for them to offer gels, but it was fine for a January race which requires less in that area I think. The post race setup was super excellent. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a nice half and especially if looking for a PR. Stay at the Candlewood Suites if possible due to location. We stayed at the Staybridge Suites, just down the road, and it was great - including free laundry!

  • Comments: Good race. I had a great time. Course was fun and felt good after finishing. Only issue I had was not knowing about road closures but it turns out the race had a link to the city for road closures. Didn't seem obvious to me (I missed it). Might be a good idea for them to put something in the Race Day section for next year to check this link.

  • Comments: well supported post-race although they ran out of pizze way too quickly. shuttles were waiting and access was quick and efficient. the downtown austin finish was nice and overall a large, well-run event.

  • Comments: Again a good race. Definately recommend running it! You are set up for a PR with good training. Can't help the wind and late start but need to coordinate with the city for a contingency plan. If it were as cold as last year could have been a brutal delay....

  • Comments: I have done 3M four times now. I like the course and the size of the race. It is definitely a low end race as far as all the extras that can go into these types of events. Also, the medals and post race organization suck compared to other races. But, it's a home town run and it's an easy course. So, I'll do it again next year. How knows, maybe next year I will have trained for it!

  • Comments: Great race, goody bag was a little disappointing. Shirt not so great, but I will do this race again for sure. Great race for a persons first Half or someone who wants to set a PR! BIG BIG Thank you to my boy Pope(Todd Hogan) for the race plan and coaching. After the WR Half he got me fast in 6 weeks! Thanks bro! Another shout out to Fitz for an awesome race and PR for himself.

  • Comments: I like this race because it's small and low keyed, plus the course is decent with some neighborhood running and some nice long gradual downhills. It's also at a great time a year and always nice and cold. I like the new course better than the old course since we don't have to be on Burnet road as long. That is my least favorite part of the course.

  • Comments: I totally love this race. The course is WAY fast. The aid stations are VERY well manned and have plenty of drinks. They even had vaseline?! The post race activities are great w/ plenty of food and drinks. I also noticed a kids race which is cool for families. If you've never run the 3M half... DO IT.

  • Comments: The race itself is fun and fast. Post race was a bit of a disappointment. You could either wait 10-15 minutes for a couple of breakfast tacos, or get Oreos, bananas, and generic Gatorade from the HEB tent. I probably would have had a better opinion if I had raced it and finished 20 minutes earlier. ;)

  • Comments: Overall this was a good race. And the goodie bag - my Lord I'll have enough post-its for life! It's so heavy it's gonna count as luggage on my way home. Thanks to Bobby for getting me through this race and thanks to all who cared. Woo Hoo. I'm a runner! Boy Howdy!
