  • Comments: This race went downhill this year. The organisers did everything on the cheap, including transition bags. The bike course changed from 3 to 2 laps to reduce crowding but they increased entries by 400 so it was even more crowded.

  • Comments: Every aspect of this race was so phenomenal, and such an enormous contrast from Melbourne, that the only two criticisms I have are TINY: 1) considering SunSmart sunscreen is the title sponsor, it would be nice to have it available for purchase at the expo. 2) Tall-top narrow mouth bidons do not squeeze into an aerobottle nor into downtube holders very well. If I were to list what is good, what is done well, what every thought and need is taken care of by race people ... this, too, would break BT's bandwidth.

  • Comments: I loved every minute of this race (even the swim). The event was well organised, the volunteers amazing, the crowds energetic and the location fantastic. Being my first Ironman and second only triathlon I put alot of time into planning this race. I felt I was able to execute this plan well resulting in no major obstacles and a successful outcome overall.

  • Comments: 1. The Volunteers were amazing. 2. Spectator support is great (dwindled on the third lap of the bike, but was really good on the run) 3. WTC put on a really bad expo/Ironman Store. This has been common among non-USA Ironman events. All I wanted was a cool finisher jacket or polo-shirt and all they had was a crappy hat that was available before the race happened

  • Comments: I really love this race! it was again seriously hard work but its an awesome supporter race! I had so many of my wonder friends and triclub memnbers down there cheering me on! I think I might take on IM NZ in 2010 but it just won't be the same without my cheer squads! the big thing I learnt this year is that you can do anything if you put your mind to it! It might hurt but you'll get there. an awesome sign on the run course was. If it was easy everyone would be an ironman! Not everyone is an Ironman but I am now times 2! super proud of that effort! And the fact that I actually really enjoyed the swim and the bike and just survived the run!

  • Comments: Excellent course for a PR since it is flat. Spectacular scenery, particularly the swim. I suffered on the run but was pleased with my overall time.

  • Comments: With this being my first (of hopefully a few more) Ironman I was more than happy with the race and the experience of becoming an Ironman, the race was a great day and apart from some of the time on the bike I had a fantastic day. I would recommend Ironman Western Australia as a first Ironman or a great place to visit from overseas.

  • Comments: I LOVED this race! Yes it was the hardest thing I've EVER done in my life but it was the most enjoyable too. hard to explain but I think I've got the bug I want to do another one. The volunteers were awesome! the whole organisation was awesome. and Its amazing to do a race where you may be amongst the slowest but you can still race with all the pros! (ohh by the way Pete Jacob's had a shocker of a run not sure what went on but he was walking! I BEAT his run time!! by 20mins!! hehe) I'll add a bit more to this in a few days.

  • Comments: Great race, just is on the other side of the world. Traveing there is hard if you don't live in Australia. I would recomend this race though, very friendly community and very pretty.

  • Comments: As with all of the other M-Dot events I've read about, the organisation was unbelievable. The transition tents and the aid stations had lots of volunteers and they were well stocked with drinks and food. Speaking of volunteers, they are so helpfull, taking off wetsuits, packing things into bags, putting sunscreen on...ANYTHING you need. Your money is definately well spent at these events. Also, Busselton is in the Geographe Bay/Margaret River area of Western Australia, which is about 3 hours south of Perth. Now, I've traveled all over the world, and I can safely say that it is one of the most beautiful places you will find anywhere in the world. There are wineries to visit and spectacular scenery every way you look. Needless to say, but it is the perfect setting for an Ironman event.
