  • Events on time?Yes

  • Lots of volunteers to help?Yes
  • Plenty of drink stations?Yes

  • Post race activities? Good
  • Overall course based on my ability: Just right

  • Comments: Very well run family-style race, most are repeat participants. Swim is quite cold, with water about 58F and ambient about 50F at the start. Bike and run are rolling hills, so you know what to practice! Support and after-race amenities were excellent, and I would do this race again, especially since they allow relays!!

  • Comments: While this race is very, very challenging (I think Bartlett Lake may have lost the title as the toughest Olympic distance race in Arizona), it is a well run race and a pretty venue. The organizers add a personal touch, and you don’t feel like just a number as you tend to at big, name brand races. I hope that the race grows enough where it is successful and sustainable, but not so big that it loses its grassroots feel.

  • Comments: As a first Tri for the RD Kate Anderson, and 1st tri at SoAZ only open water- it went very well. Lotsa' volunteers, good directions, very safe. Not an 'easy' course, but certainly beautiful and fun. entering the water on the boat ramp was dangerously slippery- but she'll put down a rug next year.
