  • Comments: This was my first stand alone marathon. I wasn't sure what to expect. I had drastically changed my goals when the PF set in. I am very happy to have finished, but was a little disappointed with my time. Now I am going to have to do it again to see how I can do when healthy!

  • Comments: Though I missed my time goals, I consider this a succesful race. It was my first marathon in 5 years and I had been injured limiting my training prior to last couple months.

  • Comments: Overall a great race. The finisher medals were a little lacking than what they were last year, and the volunteers at the end were being a little confrontational about giving out some extra food upon request. I'll definitely be back to run this again, though. What a great course and an amazing experience.

  • Comments: I think this was a very well run race. The only thing I didn't like was not being able to let everyone know what my bib number was prior to packet pick. Was this a particularly big deal? No. But I don't really know why they can't let you know what the number is sooner. The volunteers did an excellent job of keeping us hydrated, the traffic interference to nothing and the crowd support pretty high. I will likely do this race again someday....If I keep marathoning.

  • Comments: Volunteers were awesome. Aid stations were great, too. However, I was expecting to see some grapes and orange slices on the course, especially at the 20 mile + aid stations.

  • Comments: A really nice marathon, need to organize the corrals better, I just made it in the back of corral #1 as the gun went off. I could not get through the people on the streets to get to the corral openning in time. It took 20 minutes for me to go 1 block. Course was nice, well supported fans and hydration and great finish area and goodies.

  • Comments: First year for new race director. He did an excellent job. I had no complaints. The corral start was great for me. No walkers to contend with in the first miles. Nice.

  • Comments: I don't really do post race stuff. The schwag was not much this year. I think because of the economy. But we did get a free Headsweats hat at the finish. That was nice.

  • Comments: I've had about 30 hours to digest the fact that I did not finish. I'm really rather bummed about the whole affair. I felt like I had a good plan. My nutrition, hydration and pace were spot on. My plan was to run sub 9:30 miles and bank some time for a few short walk breaks. Before my knee really started to give out I was on pace for a 4:13 finish. After I got a ride back to the finish line I entered the finishers chute to get my timing chip removed (no, I did not cross the finish line, I had not earned that). After the volunteers removed my chip one started to put a finishers medal around me neck. I waved her off and said thanks, but I had not finished. That’s when it hit me that I hadn’t achieved one of my goals this year. Walking the chute and seeing the finishers with their medals hurt. Some of you think finishers medals don’t mean squat. And maybe they don’t until you don’t get one. So that’s the end of my season. 6 tri’s, 2 of which were HIM distance and one DNF marathon. So

  • Comments: Good race for me. I dont have much to compare it to. I know my family enjoyed the google map feature where they could track my progress during the race. One pet peeve: It says NO MP3 players! Very bold and very unmissable. Yet about every other person had one on. They cant hear people asking them to move or to watch out. I saw three people talking on cell phones while running. Either enforce the rules or get rid of them.

  • Comments: Columbus really turns out to support this event...the crowds, the course, the amenities, the schwag (medal and long-sleeve technical t), the scenery were all outstanding. This was an incredible race. I'd definitely consider doing it again, if it fits in my schedule. And as always, thanks to Wendi (Soooper Grouper Filet) and Trixie Goat. Racing is fantastic, and with these two, it only gets better. Good times, baby, good times. :) :)

  • Comments: This was a good race, a GREAT RACE for me, but as races go, it was good. The Expo needed a bit of tweaking, but overall, this was a nice race. I came with a goal, qualify for Boston, and the race delivered EXACTLY what it promised....a very flat course, good aid stations, and every opprotunity to run as good as your training allowed. The Fly By of a C-130 military aircraft at the start was a huge bonus!!!! Well done, and thankyou.
