  • Comments: Very good race. Well organized, and lots of volunteers. The weather kind of put a damper on the atmosphere, but it was still fun.

  • Comments: Good race - laid back and fun. It was a nice way to end the season. SetUp does a good job on most events. There was plenty of food, snacks and drinks.

  • Comments: Thoroughly enjoyed myself. Race was well organized and not too crowded. Good race for a beginner. I signed up for an Olympic distance race next spring that I will try to train properly for (take up swimming and biking again).

  • Comments: I really like this race. It's only about an hour away, very little traffic on the roads, only about 500 entrants total for both races, and a nice venue. I dropped 10 minutes from last year's time, so I am happy with this race. 2nd place Athena, 49th overall out of 117 women. The 1st place Athena beat me by 15 seconds. The third place Athena must have been right behind me, because I only beat her by 9 seconds.

  • Comments: Race started late but that was due to the rescue boats arriving late so not a big deal. Very friendly people, well organized. Good race. This most definitely was the most "bonding with nature" race I've ever done. Starting with the monster seaweed, then the abundance of roadkill, ending with the crosscountry running, I have bonded. :)

  • Comments: These results are why I'm quitting triathlon. I'm barely competent at any of the 3 sports. I need to spend my time and money on something else.

  • Comments: Overall great event for first time. Enough to get me hooked. Signed up for 5 in '08. Unfortunately I can't make this one in '08 because of a scheduling conflict but 'll be back in '09.

  • Comments: I liked the course, it was easily the most challenging of my triathlons so far. I am extremely happy with my progress on the bike, but still have work to do on the swim and run. As others have said, the surprise off road portion of the run could have been mentioned ahead of time, and I'm not a fan of swimming in a garden.

  • Comments: Well-run race. I think there was a need for more race volunteers on the bike course, and too mush reliance of the police officers manning intersections to direct athletes. A good friend was robbed of an AG place finish due to an officer errantly waving him through a turning intersection, adding 5.2 miles to his bike segment and completely taking him out of contention. I won't call him out by name as it's water under the bridge now, but it certainly negated a very good effort that could have been avoided.

  • Comments: I just want to keep training, learning, and having fun. As long as I'm still smiling at the end of a race, I'm a happy camper. Winning my division was a wonderful experience. I really enjoyed this race. Athenas rule!

  • Overall course based on my ability:

  • Comments: Last year this race was awesome. This year - not so much. Pissed that some people were directed off of course. This apparently happened several times. That just sucks. The price of the race was not worth it (95 bucks since I signed up so last minute). And they sent the awards to the wrong place so nobody got any awards... That being said I am going back next year because I like the venue.

  • Overall course based on my ability:

  • Comments: I was really dissappointed with this race. Numerous problems on the course that cost people time, the awards were sent to the wrong place so no one got an award, etc. Backing out 18 minutes for the bike detour, :15 seconds for T2, and :45 seconds for the run and I would have been right around 1:21 which would have put me 1st for AG, and 6th overall. Crap that is depressing.
