  • Description: A 1K swim in the open waters of Big Soda Lake will start the day for all triathletes. Athletes will start in waves according to age group. With an ankle-deep water start, the swim course is 500m, then exit the water for a short beach run back to the swim start, and swim the same 500m again. After completing the second lap, athletes run up the beach to transition in a large grass field.

The bike course starts on a paved path for about 1/2 mile, then proceeds onto single and double track trails, looping Bear Creek Lake Park, and returning to the same transition area at the swim beach for 11 miles of adrenaline and fun. The course offers terrain both inviting for beginners, challenging for veterans, and fun for all. Cyclocross bikes are permitted, no separate category.

Triathletes and Duathletes will start their final leg on a paved path for about 1/8mi, then turn into some great running trails with tons of shade! The terrain ranges from non-technical to slightly rocky, and is mostly flat with some random small hills thrown in to keep you on your toes.....literally! The run course leads you back to a beach finish, just to make sure your legs are screaming when you cross the finish line!
