avatarI'm at www.TriSwimCoach.com, a resource for beginning through intermediate level triathletes looking for help with swimming. The site features a free email newsletter offering tips and articles on triathlon swimming. I have also written an electronic book titled “The Complete Guide to Triathlon Swimming” and created "The Essential Triathlon Swimming DVD", both available on www.triswimcoach.com.

Practice these three workouts each week for 4 weeks. Just complete the workouts and notice the changes to your stroke.

Over the next few months, each month you will get 3-4 workouts designed to help you go from a beginner/newbie swimmer to being able to complete a workout of 3-4,000 yards without struggle, and transition into an intermediate/advanced level swimmer.

Plan to repeat these 3 workouts each week throughout the month. We will begin with 700-yard workouts and move up 1250, etc. Each month the workouts will get progressively more challenging and go from drill-intensive workouts to more interval-intensive, although there will always be drills in every workout written specifically for triathlon success!

Workouts are all quantified in yards. If you swim in a 25 or 50 meter pool, keep in mind that you will be doing a bit extra with each workout. Each months' workouts will also come with a glossary of terms at the end so you don't get confused.

Feel free to modify the workouts as needed, but do your best to complete everything.

    Good luck and visit Print
