Is it a good idea to wear winter training clothing while training in 70 degree weather in an attempt to artificially mimic warmer weather similiar to my race?

Member Question

Is it a good idea to wear winter training clothing while training in 70 degree weather in an attempt to artificially mimic warmer weather? I am preparing for FL 70.3 a couple of weeks from now where temps will probably be, at a minimum, in the upper 80s with high humidity. Being in Georgia, I usually do not have a problem with the heat when I have trained in it, but I have yet to get a training run or ride in anything close to this since last fall. I imagine a lot of people from up north had similar issues prepping for IMAZ this year.

So, it is a good idea to put the tights on for a run or bike ride this afternoon or would these do more damage than good? Pros/cons?
