Fun, but tiring weekend! My sister and I have been planning a party for my parents' 50th anniversary, and that was yesterday. Between that and volleyball tournaments etc, I was dead tired most of the weekend. Managed a short ride with friends yesterday which was nice, but no long ride. 
Aspen wanted to make a video production for her school art competition, so we downloaded some film editing software and learned how to use it this weekend. Pretty cool stuff actually - I've been totally entertained. Now I need to find an excuse to make some videos! She took a bunch of video at her volleyball tournament and practice, and put the clips together with some photos and music, and wants to add some quotes and stuff tonight. Pretty cool that my 10 year old can run the software, it's so user friendly. 
Rebecca just put together my training block and I see I have a 1.5 hour ride today. I normally don't do much on Mondays, so I'll have to wrap my head around that and see if I can f[...]

Legs were tired this morning from a long weekend. We packed so much into the weekend and I had a broomball game on saturday which always wears out my legs. Was good to get on the bike this morning and ride into work. Got my legs moving and got rid of some of the lactic acid.

The race on Saturday was fun. The trail was mostly a gravelish road so no trip, spill or fall issues. I wasn't even last!!!

There's a new partner workout series coming in two weeks that I want to do with John.  In the mean time, I'm doing CDJ workouts to keep momentum.
So the big week 5 power point is supposed to be a character health analysis from a movie. I watched Philadelphia for that.  I emailed my instructor to see if I can compare and contrast the character Andy with the different men in San Francisco Chronicle's story "Last Man Standing" that Erin wrote about 8 of the long term HIV survivors from the initial wave of AIDs diagnosis back in the 80's.

Big Baptism bash at church today, didn't get home until after 2 PM.  I watched a movie for a project I have due in a couple of week.. Have to do a character health analysis and power point, I chose Philadelphia which I had never seen (but wanted to) and cried at the ending.
LAUGHING MY A$$ OFF....my instructor gave me 100% on the second hand smoke project that I sent by Facebook messenger to a friend (since I don't know anyone in person with an infant) This program is BOGUS, but I will finish it and earn the degree anyway.

Was tired after our drive home on Sunday, in which we stopped a couple of times to stretch, gas up, etc. Kind of an interesting side note, we stopped at a Caseys in a small Missouri town (I think it was Laddonia but might be wrong about that) and across the street was a a house that was smoldering, burnt to the ground. Firefighters and police were standing about. I went into Caseys to use the restroom and while standing in line, overheard the locals saying that they believed the owner of the tavern next to the house set it on fire. someone was arguing that no, why would he do that when he owed money on it? Duh, insurance?

Stayed up to watch the season premier of The Walking Dead, not sure it was worth it.

So... Coach suggested take a break from her an from formal training. She gave me a few suggestions for last week, which I followed.  Then, I went to a run clinic (more talking than running) on Saturday and she admonished me. No SBR, she said. (Uh, there was easy spin on the trainer and easy swim in TP...) Anyway, no SBR this week. The exception is getting on the cross bike and riding on trails or greenways. I think its more to do with burnout than anythng else. I checked the gym schedules and it looks like I will be doing plenty of yoga which is probably not all bad. I'll start back with a training plan mid-November.

After taking a break from PT and taking my pain meds on a schedule, I thought I was feeling better yesterday. So I decided to take only ibuprofen and do some light PT. Big big big mistake. I’m a mess today. Even with hydrocodone it’s not catching up to the pain. Lesson learned. Take meds, don’t do PT. Wait to see the Dr Tuesday.

In other news we were so excited to get the deal of the century on FB Marketplace today. Carson got this exact model MARIMBA this morning in excellent condition for $300. Sells new for $3050. Full MSRP is over $5000.  Super super happy for him.
