Got a bit behind on logging while we were in Montana. Luckily, I didn't ride much so it didn't take long to catch up, lol!! I actually did ok with staying active the first few days we were there, but once showtime hit, it was one event after another, and I had mom guilt and felt like I needed to hang with the family the rest of the time.
Nice to be back home. It was a fun week, but super smoky in Montana, and the art stuff takes a lot out of me. I was super jazzed to win Best of Show at the show - there are so many great artists in the show that I was a bit shocked when they said my name, and it still hasn't quite sunk in. Super cool, I've never won a best of show before! After all the stress getting my paintings framed and up there, made it feel worth it. Sold 3 of my 4 so far, so made some income as well.
We stayed in the cabin of a collector over the weekend and it was so cute. Totally rustic, built in 1905 and the living area was all original logs, floors, etc, bu[...]

It's almost the anniversary of my marathon and I can't stop thinking about how I could have done better.  There are many, many things I could have done differently (not including training more) that make me think I should do it again.  But the problem is that I don't think I can manage the training!    My feet hurt every single time I run.  Sometimes during the run, always after.   Is there any hope that this will improve?  I am skeptical.   Today I am wondering if a longer break from running is worth trying. I just don't want to have to start back up again - and, often, I do enjoy running as part of my routine.  Today I am just hoping that by this time next week I will have stopped thinking about it so much.

So, for our birthdays and in Ironman years, Trudy and I do the Age/Age Triathlon. Named after that one race in Colorado that was like just "numbers" (I think it was actually the elevation of the location) like 5130 or something... so we decided we'd do the 4151 that year... and the idea sort of stuck.
So this year was 4757.
We did 47 x 75 instead of 47 x 100 (who really needs to swim that long?) Then we planned to ride 47 miles but we took a small detour and ended up with 48 and some change. The original plan had us doing a 57 minute walk but that didn't happen. As the race directors we canceled the run. That never happens! Haha
Some photos:

So, Trudy is a race director... she puts together races locally, and she was also the RD for the big ole Chicago Triathlon for many years... For this reason, she had access to BIBS! And HELMET NUMBERS! And BIKE NUMBERS!

And the ceremonial bike hoist. With the Route 47 sign in the background. You can[...]

7:52am: Already Wednesday! It gives such a different feeling to the week when you aren't in the office on Monday. :)
Half marathon training calls for either 2 miles of running (not gonna happen) or 30 minutes of cross training. I will go for a walk today to fulfill my training commitment. My right hip is all sorts of angry and sore from running yesterday, though -- I'm hoping -- just sore and not indicative of something more sinister. I'll start doing my hip-strengthening exercises at night to see if that will help. Also, I might keep my mid-week runs on the treadmill because it's more cushioned and only head outdoors for my long weekend runs.
Feels weird to be training again. Like, following a plan kind of training. I hope it sticks. :)

Out early this morning stoking yesterday's fire. Should be able to get the current piles of stuff burned up before the end of today. I've got some pretty big stuff left, so Fred's going to have to help with the tractor and fork. Also working on the pool again today. I figured out that I've been using the wrong algecide all summer. No wonder the walls have a brownish tinge. It's a slow process getting the walls scrubbed down well. The best thing I've found is the green kitchen scrubbers. I can put two on my mop handle and use it or just a single scrubber by hand. I can use the pool brush, but it doesn't do nearly as well. Didn't get much mowing done yesterday, so I'll round out the day with as much as I can get done.

Decided to skip the gym this morning. I really want to get the above stuff done and by the time I'm back from the gym, it's lunch time and the day is half shot. Dinner tonight with the neighbors. It could be interesting. They want to buy our house. :)

The paper is graded, I only lost 3 points on my APA formatting. I think it was my citations.

Not sure what I'm doing today. Say a prayer, having a breast biopsy. To say I'm not a bit wigged out would be an understatement.  This is the third time I've had to have one and it never gets easier.

Slept like crap last night, still struggling with getting back on east coast time.  5:45 AM spin class, ugh!  HR was pretty high for the effort level, but legs felt pretty good.  Will try to hit the pool later.
