I'm pretty sure I'm in.  This will be my first 70.3.  Good choice?  It's close and can stay with family so cut's down on travel expenses.

Greetings from Central Wisconsin. I think it is a good choice for first timers. I looked at the following site when deciding

http://www.runtri.com/2010/08/toughesthardest-vs-easiestfastest-hal...

It basically rates Racine as a good beginner course since the bike / run are fairly flat and fast. I did Steelhead last year and the course looks real similar. Looking forward to it.

I seriously have my bike on the trainer yet in the basement. Can we string together a couple nice days to get out and ride????

I just finished the NYC marathon on Sunday and I think I'm going to venture into triathlons. I am doing an Olympic distance and I want to do a 70.3 next year too. Any advice?

Some mistakes I made during the Hawaii Ironman 70.3. Don't be caught out on the course not knowing how or not having the equipment to change a flat tire.

It was the morning of Ironman Newfoundland 70.3, I felt queasy. I didn't want to eat or drink anything. I had a full blown case of the pre-race HEEBEE GEEBEES.
