Subject: Swim Training Programs around New Haven?
Hey everyone - I'm looking to compete in my first Triathlon this summer. I've been reading up in different places. I've run a few 5k's and bike quite a bit. I can swim adequetly, but I think I could make much improvement if i got some help with technique. Does any one know of any swimming programs (4 to 8 weeks maybe) in the New Haven area? I see that there is one at Tri-Fitness in Weston, but that's a bit out of the way for me (i'm in Orange).

Any help would be hugely appreciated!!

Thanks,

BB

Trifitness is my tri team, very good program but as you say will be too far for you. As Dan says look for a masters squad, only advise I would give about masters is start in the slowest lane at the back. Good luck for your first season of training.

Can you share?  I'm in New Haven too and I have not really found anything, but I haven't looked in a while.  Thanks.

Absolutely - sorry, should have posted it. that was rude

If you go to this link http://connmasters.org
Then click "places to swim"
Then choose a county from the map.

From there you can click on Towns, and it will list pools.
Some list a contact for a masters swim program.

I just checked New Haven and they have two that look pretty organized.
I only checked Orange and Milford previously, and there were phone numbers.
