Subject: RE: KNEE trouble Advice? Well, swim. Too obvious. RICE. You know that too. Maybe a little advice about running may help once the knee is better. 1) Listen to your feet. You should not hear anything. I mean that your feet should strike the road so gently that they make almost no sound. When you can hear the feet pounding the pavement, your knees are taking a beating. 2)Run with about 80 strides a minute. Shorter, quicker, gentler strides prevent overstriding and landing too hard. 3)Back it down a notch. Go shorter distance or slower or both. Drop back to a stress level that your knee can tolerate. Build back up on speed or distance once your body is fully adapted to that stress level. |
