Subject: "David Martin Memorial Fund" established
This email is being forwarded from the Triathlon Club of San Diego (TCSD) regarding Dave Martin, who was killed by a shark while participating in a club group swim on Friday morning.

Some of you had inquired if a fund was being established.

Thanks,
Danny Hyte

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I apologize for the mass e-mail, if you get duplicate e-mails and if you haven't heard from me in a while. This seems like the best way to quickly get out this important information to the largest audience possible. Feel free to spread the word.

Friends-

At the request of David Martin's family spokesperson, Rob Hill, an account has been established to take care of the family's immediate needs at:

First Republic Bank
937 Lomas Santa Fe Drive
Solana Beach, CA. 92075

The bank is located just east of The 5 Freeway, in the same shopping center as Vons, Big 5, et. Al., between the Baskin Robbins 31 Flavors and Starbucks. Make checks payable to "David Martin Memorial Fund."

The bank can take donations that are hand delivered, mailed or you can wire money to the bank.

The Bank's Wire Transfer Routing # is 122243127

In your wiring instructions, put the name and address of the bank, the routing number above and identify 'for the benefit of the "David Martin Memorial Fund."'

Give what you can. No amount is too small. The bank itself started the fund with $1,000 and the first person that was asked to contribute gave $250. Wouldn't it be great if the bank, when they open their doors on Monday morning at 9am., had over 100 checks totaling over $10,000. I will be at the bank at 9am. You can give me a check before then if that is more convenient than wiring, mailing or hand delivering a check yourself.

Thank you for your consideration and generosity.
Daniel Powell

Two other notes:

1.) Please direct press inquiries to the City of Solana Beach Web site: http://www.ci.solana-beach.ca.us/. The City is keeping up to date on all happenings (including the establishment of this memorial fund for David). The City is in touch with the family and their wishes. The City has a profession press relations agent, a City Manager and an Assistant City Manager that are used to dealing with press inquiries and are coordinating the entire process.

2.) Many of the retail shops on S. Cedros Avenue (100-400 block) are going to be open this coming Monday, April 28, 2008, and will be donating 100% of their profits to the "David Martin Memorial Fund" for all purchases made between the hours of 4-7 PM. Some of these shops are normally closed on Mondays. However, many shop owners, and their helpful staff, will be coming in on their "day off" to help our greater Solana beach family. Thank them for generously giving of their time and profits for our friend Dave.

In addition, during these same hours (4-7pm), at the Southeast corner of South Cedros and Rosa Avenue, 342-348 S. Cedros Ave., there will be a Silent Auction of art, gift items and other wonderful items for your home. These items have been donated by local businesses and 100% of the Silent Auction proceeds will go to the "David Martin Memorial Fund." Come with an open heart (and an open wallet) and let's see if we can get some healthy competition going to out bid each other, all for a great cause.

Also, If you have an item to donate (dinners at a restaurant, a donation from your business, anything of value), please bring the item at 3pm to the parking lot of 342-348 S. Cedros and we'll add your item to the silent auction.

If you would like to volunteer to help run the Silent Auction, that would be great. Be ready to set up at 3pm. Bring the largest table you can (card table if that is all you've got) and a couple of folding chairs. Let's "get it done" together.

All the best, always,
Daniel Powell

If you want utilize the wire transfer option, please see below:

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I was just informed by the bank that wire transfers will need to use the following Acct #: 5579404

So, in summary, to perform the wire transfer:

First PACIFIC Bank
937 Lomas Santa Fe Drive
Solana Beach, CA. 92075

Acct # 5579404
Bank's Wire Transfer Routing # is 122243127

In your wiring instructions, put the name and address of the bank, the account # (
5579404) , the routing # (122243127 ) and identify 'for the benefit of the "David Martin Memorial Fund."'
