Hey...just wanted to remind everyone that if you're thinking of registering for Oceanside 70.3 in 2009...you should do it soon. The deadline to get the early registration price is July 1st.

Before July 1st...235.00

July 1st until sold out...265.00

Just thought I's throw that out there for anyone wanting to save some cash.

Adios!!

Yup.  Water can be cold, weather can be iffy, can't preride all of the bike course, and the run's on a lot of concrete....  but it's a well run event

Yes, it is a good one to participate in even with the unknown weather conditions.  What three HIM are you looking at?  This is good for multiple HIM/IM race eyars as it is very early in the season.

Plus it is about as local as you are going to get!

I think that this one is going to be my very first HIM. I went this year to cheer on some of my other BT friends and was very inspired. It looks like it's a fun course and very scenic. :D

Paul - you thinking of Oceanside and WF next year?  they're 3 weeks apart or something insane like that  (just checked.. 4 weeks)

I can't imagine not doing Oceanside but I'm going to try really hard not to sign up for Wildflower.  Trying to get ready for that run and then having it beat me down messes me up.  Maybe Napa which has been on the same weekend as WF.  Or Honu, or Boise,.......

I have not had the opportunity to research HIM's yet. I was hopoing to have some time, but it looks like these event level fills in much earlier then Oly's and Sprints. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. The Corpsman in me would love to be in that area running again.

It will sell out, unknown when.  Last year sold out in November, and that was earlier than the year before.  This year it's a week later and there's no conflict with IMAZ so I bet it'll sell out even sooner.

Other relatively local halfs off the top of my head are Wildflower (difficult for a first), Super Frog (also tough), Big Kahuna (Santa Cruz), Las Vegas, Pumpkinman/Halfmax (Lake Mead, if they do a HIM again in 09), Vineman

You can find half distances at trifind.com
