Subject: Upper Leg Sore

I have been training for 7 months.  Started out with soreness in knees and shin splints.  Thanks to ice and losing 30lbs these problems have gone away.  I started this week running 30 & 35 mins straight, not using the 8/2 method.  while I'm running or walking everything is fine, but after sitting or sleeping ther is a soreness in my upper front right leg from waist to knee.

51 yrs old and thought every muscle had been sore before.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated

any numbness or tingling? any weakness? what else aggrevates it (besides sitting & sleeping)? any back pain? are you still overweight at all?

it could be a number of things, but a form of sciatica comes to mind as well as a harmless condition with a wonderfully latin name, "Meralgia Paresthetica", which is frequently caused by a big gut that puts pressure on the nerves traveling under the inguinal ligament.

Anyway...if you have any problems with numbness, tingling, weakness, back pain, trouble peeing or pooping, you need to go see your doc. Or if it doesn't go a way in a few days.

Yes I still need to lose another 15-20 lbs but no numbness or tingling, did not run for 2 days and very little pain still exists.

Thanks for the help
