Subject: Monday 9/1: Group Training...
In case anyone is interested, here is what I'm thinking for Monday:

Bike:
Meet at Gay City State Park (MapQuest) for a ride of the Pig TT course. We'll ride from the park to the finish line (about 1.5 miles away) then turn back and ride to the start (about 6 miles). Then we'll line up and start at 00:30 intervals and HAMMER the course. All-in-all, it should be about 12 - 15 miles in the saddle.

Swim:
After we finish the TT, we'll drive over to Lake T (about 10:00 or so -- MapQuest) for an OWS.

Breakfast:
Drive up to Dunkin' Donuts (about 5:00 or so and close to RT2).

Time:
I'm still flexible on time. Polly threw out 7:00 - 7:30.

Any takers???

Let's say 7:30 a.m. then.

Turn left onto RT 85 (Gilead St) at the intersection of RT's 66 and 85 in Hebron for approx 4.75 miles.
Turn right to stay on RT 85 (North St) for approx 2 miles.
Turn left into park entrance. Continue past gate and look for parking lot on left-hand side of road approx .15 miles inside of park.

Time: 7:30 a.m.

Hopefully that's early enough for everyone.

It's tough to swim as a group so the plan at the lake will be to regroup there, complain about the water temp , then get in and do our own thing. Those who finish early can hang if they want. Those with other commitments may have to hit the road.

To get to D&D:
- Turn left out of the Lake T parking lot
- Turn left at the stop sign at the bottom of the road
- Stay straight until the light/intersection w/ RT 66
- Go through intersection and D&D is on left (Turn left at light to get to RT 2)

Curious to see the start order and outcome of tomorrow's 6 mile hammerfest.  My money would be on Pam or Polly spanking Cappy tomorrow.  Particularly if they're allowed to leave after him and hunt him down.

Oh man...it feels like we are getting the band back together

I have to work tomorrow (for some reason my tax season seems to last 12 months nowadays) so I am definately out for the swim but I can't rule the bike out then I might hit the park of another 5 mile trail run.  At work today so it will depend on how much I get done.

Thanks for putting this together Cappy.  I really want to do more group training so this is cool.

Nope.  Too much life/family stuff going on and I just don't have the time to make the drive back and forth.  They're getting first priority and I just fit workouts in around the family stuff we have going on.  You all have fun.

BTW, what's up with the short 12-15 mile ride.  Why not suck it up and put some extra miles in. Start at Lake T, ride out to where you'll be doing what you gotta do, then ride back.

Let's just get out there and have some fun!

BTW:
I have some ideas for other group training (more swims, long/casual road rides, post-IMAZ mountain bike rides, ...). So, more to come...

Maybe I can swing it. Any idea how long we will ride for? I may go do the sprint and then take off.

Well, i have a road bike, i am building a tri bike, and i have 2 MTB's that are in various stages of stripped down to frames. I have not gotrten a Cyclocross yet, i will probably do that before a MTB.

So theorhetically i guess i have 3 of 4  ;0D

I'm guessing here, but I'd say maybe 45:00. There's not really a lot of distance to cover on this ride.

We'll meet at Gay City then ride a couple miles down to the finish so those that don't know where it is can see it. Then we'll ride the 6.1 miles back to the start. We'll send the first rider off, to cover the 6.1 miles, then the other rides on 00:30 intervals. Then it's a couple miles back to the cars.

So I guess it depends on how hard we ride the TT course.
