footie watching for me today: my team are playing their local rivals. then later on is going over to my neighbours to help look after her son whilst she prepares things for a week or so away in london. her husband is spending two weeks outside parliament in a tent with a friend to raise awareness of refugee rights, and she is following him down later this week.

at some point i need to get to asda for my weekley shop, so either a walk or bike ride planned there. friends house warming tonight so tomorrow will probabaly be spent sleeping! may try and sneak a swim in though.

Hey guys...

I've been so busy. I fell off the wagon again... I cannot get psyched about this next round. I'm a little bummed and a lot worn out, from school and work (though, we are just about finished with that bathroom). Right now we're getting fixtures put in, and then we still need a final wipe down of the tiles, and then seal them. So probably another week or so. But I'm exhausted, not getting much sleep, not doing much in the way of training. But I am going to school everday. So is that the trade off, and is it worth it?

See in a day or so.

So I drove over to the little town where my first Tri is next weekend, and drove the 15 mile bike course.  I am really depressed now.  The amount of rolling hills and long grades on the course was just....crazy.  It looked really tough, especially on my hybrid bike instead of a true road bike.  I have a feeling my legs are gonna be shot for the run.

Keep the head up Toader, you'll be surprised at how much the race atmosphere will help you out.

Had my duathlon yesterday. It went ok. 5 mi trail run and then 18 mi bike. Trails were crazy. Lots of hills and a couple of sand dune climbs. Bike went well. It was a good clean out the pipes type of race. I could tell that I haven't done any hard training in a while. Felt good to hurt again.

The excitement of the day will help you over the hills!  Don't get too down.  You have trained, you are as ready as you are going to get.  Most importantly it is your first one!  So go have fun becoming a triathlete!  If the bike kicks your butt...go back next year and get your revenge.

Great Job! I have never done a trail run but it sounds like fun (hard, but fun).

Good morning Skinnies.  Almost Oct first already.  Time to start planning your training a little differently with it getting dark earlier an earlier.

Wed is a new month.

This weekend (mainly Saturday) was not a good eating day.  This might be the first week since I started (June) that I will gain a little weight back instead of losing.  Oh well, we shall see what the scales say on Monday.  I find it amusing, as if the scale gods are laughing, that my first week possibly gain instead of lose will be the week I was supposed to cross the 200-199lb threshold.  Tongue out

In other news, I woke up with a very weird/sharp pain in my upper right abdomen, just under my rib cage.  It hurts when I cough, or flex my stomach.  It was fine when I went to bed...I wonder what I could have done in the night to cause this, and I also wonder what it is.

I ate ok over the weekend...but Hal, the evil AI scale, says I am back up to 195 this morning...I knew when I got down to 193 it was all some joke he was playing on me.

Didn't eat too terribly bad over the weekend.  I got in a 50 mile ride on Saturday, so that was nice...looking forward to what the scale says on Wed.

Ho hum.... Seeing everyone doing well makes me a little jealous, but also, definately happy to see the true triathlete spirit alive and well. Just wish he was alive in me right now. Actually I sort of knew it was going to be like this, a few months ago, but tried everything to avoid it, and apparently not very well. But in hindsight, I always lose more weight in the winter than I do in the summer anyway, as my work is seasonal. I appreciate the fall and winter months better for a couple of reasons. 1. Training when it's hot out gives me the lion mentality in the sahara... needing to nap all day 2. I like to bundle up so that I get that sauna quality from my workouts. --> Helps to burn a few more cals... 3. I like the fact that I can appreciate the hardwork I put in(during the fall/winter) for the beginning of the summer. So come on already, is it fall yet? How about winter?

Hopefully Weds. weigh-in won't be too herrendous. And just so you know, I am still trying very hard to keep the eating clean.

That's great...it will really augment the training when you get back at it...and don't worry fall is on its way...we had a change in the winds in Chicago yesterday and it definately feels more fall like now...usually you all get our weather about 24 hours later so it should be getting to those nice workout temps soon!

Today was it for us in the land of the great lakes. I think it hit 65 but a cold front and rain is upon us. THey say it will struggle to hit 60 the rest of the week.
