Indianapolis Monumental Marathon

I'm in.  I'm going for under 3:25....we'll see...

I put the course in BT Route Manager.  It looks pretty flat.

I sat down to sign up for the Indianapolis Monumental Marathon because my training plan for that day calls for a 13 mile run (was going to do the half), but holy cow, I watched 4 minutes of the route video and it seems REALLY monotonous.....the Indy marathon on 18 October is in Fort Ben state park and is pretty and colorful....only scheduled for a 7 mile run that day, but I'm going with the 18th in Fort Ben.

Hey, good luck with the marathon!  I'm doing the half, but am trainig for a January marathon (Disney World)!

I needed the extra training time to prepare.  I think the route looks great; going through downtown Indy and past lots of landmarks, some cool neighborhoods, Butler Univ...  It seems there would be more spectators and things to see vs. the one out east.  I do like peaceful runs, but for 26.2, would prefer some action along the way.

I'm signed up for the full mary, but the way my training is going, I may have to drop down to the half.  We'll see.  I am doing a half-mary in Evansville on the 11th.  I'll see how I feel after that.  I am not going to taper for the half, I'll just treat it as a long run.  I have been missing some long runs due to the J.o.b. and family stuff.
