Is anyone else planning to swim about 7:30 on Thursday?  I can't be there Friday morning, but racinmason and I will be there Thurs.

I'll be at the moose statue at 7:30 AM on Thurs

I did CDA last year and I am extremely envious of you all. It is a great race and a great place. Best of luck to you all and enjoy.

Wife willing, I will be there next year. (Also need registration to go online.)

Did we decide on a swim time for Friday?  I can do 7:30 or 8:30 whatever works for everybody else.  I'll have a Zoot wetsuit on and I'll wear a blue Chicago Cubs hat until we get ready to into the water.

It sounds like there is an early group and late group on Friday.  I'm swimming at 8:30, look for the red-head in the sleeveless Promotion wetsuit with green trim.

I swam in CDA last night in my sleeveless wetsuit.  The water felt real good.  IMO this will be the warmest IMCDA swim ever.

For those worried about the cold water I would say that I saw lots of kids playing in the lake last night without wetsuits.  You're about to do an Ironman.  You're tougher than a 5 year old in a swim diaper aren't you?

I'll be at the 8:30 swim Friday morning.  Wife will be there with her camera equipment for pics.  She'll also be taking pics during the race so you all can check her website www.kritra.com a week or so after the race for downloads if she happened to get you.

Good Luck to all the CDA'ers out there.  I can't believe I've been sitting on my tail a year already.  Guess I need to sign up again.

Tip:  If you have someone meeting you at the finish line give them your flip flops.  They will be worth three times their weight in gold when your done.

Have fun and enjoy the catered workout!

I 2nd Kelly's comments!!!! I will be thinking of you all the whole weekend! Have fun out there and enjoy the experience - especially if you are a first timer. There is nothing like your first Ironman experience.

Also when you're on the bike course make sure you say hi to the Alpacas for me

I saw in the athlete guide that you need your active.com conformation number.  I don't have that E-mail anymore.   Do they really need this number or is the photo ID enough?

I have never had to produce this number at athlete check-in (at least at WI), and I don't have it with me this time.  Should be no problems

I've never seen anyone needing it.  If they assigned you a number they must have you as being registered.

I think we're looking at rain for race day.  We got poured on yesterday when we rode the course!

Water temp is perfect, and as long as it's dry, the air temperature is perfect as well.  I didn't beleive that I'd need arm warmers, but I had to buy some today!

I forgot that my wetsuit was packed with my tribiketransport gear bag so couldn't meet up at the 7:30 swim.  I swam at 1:30 PM and it was still pretty choppy.  Hope to see some of you Fri morning.   Pro sightings so far include Heather Fuhr, PNB, Michael Lovato, and Jim Bonney.  Word is that Desiree Ficker is racing but no visual yet!

I am going to be a little late to the 8:30 Friday swim as I need to get my wetsuit from Tri Bike.  I don't think they open until 8:30.  I'll try and catch up with everybody.
