Pre-race routine:

Got there super early to make sure I could drive through the streets and park. I ended up walking around aimlessly for a while. After getting to where they were building the corrals I decided I was cold and went back for my ear warmers. I put them on for about 90 seconds and they started to give me a headache. It was a waste of a walk back to the car, but at least it gave me something to do. McDonalds was open and PACKED. I hadn't trained so I knew I was in too much trouble to put an Egg McMuffin down my gullet. If I was more fit, however, I would have been in line with the rest of the fools. Used the port-a-johns the second I got there, so I was the first one in mine. Yey!
Event warmup:

Just aimless wandering. Also marveling at the ladies in full hair and make-up. That always kills me.

Comments:

I walked about 75% of it since I hadn't trained. At all.
What would you do differently?:

TRAIN.
Post race
Warm down:

Hobbled to car and went home to finish the rest of my day up north.

Event comments:

I thought it was a very pretty race, enough elevation change to keep it interesting without being difficult. Gorgeous views of the coastline, great volunteers (especially from the Post Graduate Naval Academy). There weren't too many spectators on the course, but that was ok. The expo was small, but different needs were well represented. I recommend it this run.
