If I receive an "educational" copy I will be more than happy to "share" this with the group.  With all the video capturing software on the market today someone must have this - HELLO ANYONE ?

Too little too late but my friend just told me he could have done this as he has capture software. I wish I had known before race.

I was ready to plunk down more $$$$ to get the finish line video, fortunately, my GF got some video with her camera but it is a little unstable as she was jumping up and down with excitement!

On another note, how is everybody's recovery going? I was sore for about 3 days and I have some lingering aches and pains that crept up just before taper. But other than that, I feel pretty good physically and mentally. I've done a few light workouts and enjoyed them!

Im still kinda sore - not everyday walking around or anything but I can feel tightness way down deep in my leg and back muscles. Im feeling kinda lost without doing any training or anything ~ I've spent the last year looking forward to Nov. 7th - imagining how the race will go and now there's not too much going on. Anyone else feel sorta lost?

I have been surprised by my recovery. I took the day after IMFL off to travel home. Then on Monday, 11/9, I hit the trainer after work for an easy 60min session. Tusesday was a light 30 min swim followed by another easy 60min trainer session. Same thing on Wednesday and then just 90min trainer sessions Thursday and Friday. The Saturday after IMFL, I joined my team for a ride and felt awesome. Actually had the snap back in my legs. Running on Sunday was good for 30 mins but the next 30 not so good. Since then, I have been back to my normal winter training routine and the legs feel pretty good.

Definitely been surprised by the way I've bounced back.

I would have bought a finish video too.  Amazing they arent doing it, really missing some revenue stream.  They could have an intern ripping DVD's and selling them for $30 each all day long.

I was amazed at how I felt after this race.  I expected to be unbelievably sore, but actually felt better than I did after many sprints.  I think more than anything, I was physically exhausted a few days after.  I have slept better and longer in the last couple of weeks then I have in a long time.

I have really forced myself to take some time off after the race, I have done a couple of easy rides and a couple of easy runs, but that was it.  I went mountain biking this week out in Red Rock Canyon outside of Vegas and felt great during a 3 mile climb.  In fact I felt great all ride until I endo'ed over the handle bars on a descent and landed on a rock pile!  So now I have some wicked trail rash and cracked ribs, but cant blame IMFL for that

I plan on starting my winter maintenance and off season plan in December, so wanted to really give my body a chance to recover.  It was a long season, my first race was in March last year and I stayed race ready the whole rest of the season. When I do my next IM, I will not race as much leading up to it as I do think that it hampered my overall long distance performance, but I had a really fun year and wouldn't change a thing about it.  IMFL was the perfect end to my third tri season!!

Brad

Feeling a little lost too. Recovery was great, can't believe how well I felt after race day. Still on a iron high!!! Feel the need and want. Forcing my self to rest and do what ever feels good thispast two weeks, swim, bike, run, eat, sleep and catch-up on all the work at home and office that has piled up. Looking to start a real light off season plan after thanksgiving. Also planing to go get inked next week.

Glad to know I'm not the only person who feels strange right now. I'm also forcing myself to take time off to recover. I've felt pretty good since the race. I'm ready to start back up again but don't want to start back too soon. It is easier to take time off now than for an injury down the road. My family is ready for me to start working out again.

I've logged a whopping 8 miles on the mountain bike riding it around town. Cleaned the house from top to bottom. I would start swimming again if it weren't for this lil M-Dot tattoo that I got a few weeks ago. I'm not happy with how the tattoo turned out. So I'm having it redone this weekend. Pics to come this weekend.

I've just been really irritable. The lack of exercise (45 min-1hr versus 3 hours/day) is making me jittery at work and I've been snapping at people. I'm sure my trepidation over a final exam next week doesn't help, either.

I was good to go having signed up for IMAZ next year to keep me happy, but then I started eating holiday food and "relaxing" and I feel like the energy has been sucked out of me.

Gonna get back on the wagon next week...

Hey Brad\Matthew, you guys planning on any of the Setup races next year? Im thinking Smithfield, Kinetic Half, Tidewater Oly and Patriots Half!

Hey Shawn - I was ready for some off season fun workouts like mountain biking and some trail running, but crashed in the desert outside of Vegas on my mtn bike and have been healing from a pair of broken ribs!  So I am dying to get back out.  Kind of a forced end of season recovery!

Almost every SetUp event is the same weekend as another race or event that I already have on my calendar  Smithfield/Monument Ave 10k, Kinetic/Cap to Cap Century, Tidewater Int/Eagleman, 3Sports/NYC Tri, and Patriots/Nation's Tri

At this point Eagleman will be my only long course race this season as I want to focus on speed!  (in the immortal words of Ricky Bobby...."I'm going fast again!")

I think I will do the Rumpass in Bumpass Sprint as I am racing the DuNationals in Richmond the next weekend and might do the Luray International in August as I dont have much on my calendar for then.

You should look into some of the Richmond Multisport Events in Richmond www.richmondmultisports.com   they are a lot of fun.

Hope to see you out there sometime!

Brad

Nice to live in the tropic. Getting ready for Puerto Rico's half iron tri next weekend, 13DEC. Not training for this one. Just heading over with what I have left from IM Florida and 4 weeks of taper, :-). The price is right, and the time is perfect. Then next month I'll be heading back to FL for Disney's Marathon weekend and the Goofy Challenge.

Anyone doing IM Kentucky or Great Floridian next year?

Happy holidays everyone, and FELICIDADES!
