Comments: I was trying for a time of around 29 minutes. I recently practiced a hilly 3 mile course several times by my house and last week I did it in 29:20. I was reassuerd when I saw the clock 1/2 way through on lap 4 with a time of 13:55. I tried to keep that pace but slowed down a bit during the 2nd half. I am happy with the time but cant help feeling like I could have done better. What would you do differently?: pace myself better. I need to run more 5k's and get the feel for where I am. This was the third time running this distance and my first on this 1/3rd mile track. Post race
Warm down: walking and stretching for 15 min. What limited your ability to perform faster: I need to do more speed work / intervals. I have been doing alot of base work on the dreadmill at 6-7 mph pace. I think that would have helped my time more. Overall I am happy with it and this gives me motivation to build on for next time Event comments: Had a good time and glad my son did it with me. It was his first ever time running and he did a 29:10. Had fun and would do it again. Last updated: 2009-02-04 12:00 AM
