Subject: RE: Upcoming Swim Challenge - the 6000 club well I gave this a shot in a meters pool, and things were going good for the first 10-12 or so, then I started burping and what do you know, the pizza I had for lunch an hour before wasn't very happy with me... I ended up doing 25x100m and it was getting tougher towards the end keeping my food down while trying to take some fluid in between intervals. My average was around 1:45/100 it was inching toward 1:50 toward the end of the 25.
I swim in a Lifetime Fitness pool and they keep the damn place way too hot and the water is like bathwater, so I definitely know I am sweating in the water. Looking back I think I started out slightly dehydrated so by the 15th 100 or so I was wanting some water real bad. I think I'd have a better shot in a pool made for swimmers (at like 76 degrees as opposed to ~84). I'm not sure of the exact temperature but put it this way, I jump in and it's not cold at all, unlike what I remember from high school days. Anyway, I think this is a great goal to work towards for me, and I'll try to dig up this thread maybe next month if I make another attempt.
