You guys hear alot about this yet? As a newb, I'll have 3 sprints under me belt by then. But for my 1st Oly, what do think about it? Is it pretty newb friendly? Or you think it'll be all the hardcores?

Yep. Heard about it. Registered for it. I don't know if it'll be newb friendly but I've heard that they put on a great race. The area is quite nice so the course should be good. I don't think it'll be all the hardcores but I do notice a substantial difference between sprints and Oly races.

I think I am going to sign up for it....Wanted an open water sprint before I signed up, and I found one in Edmonton. Lake Summerside June 7th.

It is a great race.  this is the first year for the oly distance, but I think it will help to draw some more athletes.  Great as a first race because it's not quite as hoopla'd as some of the other races, and yet there are great pre and post-race events to really get the whole experience.  Mike is an excellent race director and pulls off a fantastic event.

Does anyone know of someone that is registered and can not make it to the event?  I FINALLY got the time off approved from work and now the registration is closed.  I really want to get in to this race, it would be my first tri.  If any one has a spot to sell, or knows of someone, PLEASE let me know.

Thank-you.

Hey there,

I just spoke with Mike Bock, race director.  He said that you can email him (see the contact) on the website and request to do the olympic distance race.  You'll be able to race, just won't get a medal or a t-shirt, as they were specially ordered and he can't get more in time for the race.  Try that!

Very excited for tomorrow!  Are we all ready?

I got the bike setup yesterday and I'm ready to rocket.  Watch for bib 589 doing the Olympic distance.
