Subject: Women's Desoto Tri Clothes

Hey Girls,

I'm looking for opinions from people who have desoto tri clothes (women's tri shorts, tri support top, or tri top w/zipper).  There are a few places having pretty good closeouts on last year's stuff, and I was going to pick up a top and shorts, but wanted to hear some opinions first.  Do you like them?  How do they fit?  Are the tops generally short or long?  The only people I know who wear Desoto are guys, so I could really use some female opinions on fit etc.

Thanks!!!

Stacey

I have DeSoto Tri Shorts and like them. They are my only tri shorts, so I can't say I have anything to compare them to... They seem a little short, but no shorter than the shorts in your avatar.

Now, don't be stingy! Where are these great closeouts?!

Seems like a bunch of places are having sales on last year's stuff right now, in a bunch of different brands.  A few places have the desoto tops for <$30, so I figured if anyone had a good review, I'd buy one.  Check out:

www.trivillage.com (good deals on Zoot and they have lots of sizes!)

There, now no one can accuse me of being stingy

I bought both a tri support top and a tri top with zipper on closeout myself a couple months ago.

I love the zipper top, and I wore it in my first tri w/ a sports bra underneath. It was very quick drying, comfortable and I liked the zipper. I also wear it training.

I didn't like the support top as much. The support isn't great, and the elastic in the arm holes is a little uncomfortable.

Sweet! Thanks! You're not stingy...

It's also worth mentioning that Team Estrogen has a Terry Butterfly saddle on sale for 50 bucks. Worth getting? My nether regions are still sore from yesterday's ride....

I got some of their closeout clothes: one pair of tri shorts for $30, one skinsuit for $25 and a pair of gloves. I really like them. Good quality! The skinsuit has the zipper on the back but it does not matter. I got the short size s and it was fine for me but the skinsuit was a little small for me. I thought about return it but I hope by the time of the race I lost the lbs I have extra and can fit it better
BTW the skinsuit does not have bra support. Since I am 34A it does not matter to me. I do not need the extra support. If you do, make sure it is detailed on the description.

Some of the sizes are gone, I hope you find something:

I'll chime in a little. I have the desoto tri shorts that's unisex. If you ever have a question about sizing, email Emilio at desoto personally with your measurements and he will let you know the exact size.

Another store, that you did not mention, that also carries De Soto and now has a lot of the previous year products on sale is Tri Outfitter:

I Just got some DeSoto closeouts from Trisports. I have worn the shorts (unixes) and they were very confortable. I am used to riding in bike shorts, so the thinner padding did take some getting used to. I also got the top with the bra built in. I have only tried it on, but it feels comfortable and seems to have good support (I am pretty small up top so that might not be saying alot). I did find their size charts a little confusing. By one measurement I was a small, another a large and another an XL.

I compormised on a Large and everything seems to fit good.
