Are you all looking at www.NashvilleTriathlonClub.com? Under the "resources" tab, there are weekly rides at 7AM on Saturdays from Trace bikes (Loveless Cafe Bellevue) and from Acme Multisports in Goodlettsville. There are Sunday runs at the gates of Percy Warner at 7AM as well.
One of our members is looking for a 1/2 iron training partner in Mt. Juliet, Old Hickory, Donelson or Hermitage area. PM me for her info.
There was OWS at Percy Priest Lake on Fridays after work in the spring and summer. Correct me if I am wrong but I think it was at the Elm Hill marina. Acme Multisports has OWS at Old Hickory Lake in the spring and summers once a week at 5:30 AM. This is the course for the Old Hickory Lake sprint tri; great practice!
It seems like NTC is having social events almost quarterly. I only joined NTC earlier this year and so far we have had a cookout, a Kona party (and run) and a group ride with George Hincape. Our Christmas party is Dec. 5th. NTC sponsors the area's only duathlon as well (2/10/2).
Check with some of the bike shops listed above (and there are more in the phone book) for group ride info. There were/are several century rides this fall; "Leaves of Lincoln" and one up in Clarksville (possibly Susan G. Komen). Of course, you can find a 5k almost every weekend if you want to.
There is plenty to do in this area and it can be found between the bike shops, www.trifind.com, www.active.com, www.team-magic.com, Nashville Striders running club (www.NashvilleStriders.com) the two tri clubs and running stores such as Fleet Feet in Brentwood and Team Nashville down on West End.
I'm in Franklin, so I'll be glad to do some Saturday rides at Percy Warner. I've done several 50 milers back there; 4 laps and the boulevard down and back. Fantastic workout, especially in the winter time base phase. PM me. My running is only around 5 miles since I only do sprints. There is a full mary back there (the Flying Monkey) on Nov 22nd and NTC will be hosting a water stop. I'll be volunteering that day.
Personally, this year I did the Country Music half mary, 5 local sprints, the duathlon and 1 5k with two more 5ks to go (Habitort in Franklin on Tgiving day and Rudolph run downtown in December). That is enough to keep me busy.
Shout if you have any other questions!
