Anybody else out there with a large melon and found a good fit? Just about every pair of sunglasses I've owned digs into the temple area in a matter of minutes. I was on the bike the other day, and was being pelted with little bits of gravel so I thought I better get a pair asap.

I've tried on several brands now. Forget about Oakleys, their designed for people with heads the size of grapefruits! Ryders come close, maybe with a bit of heat the frame can be opened? Love RayBans from my flying days, but they don't carry athletic glasses. I don't want to pay a fortune either, but might be forced to buy something custom. Going to start checking out gas stations too.

Anyways, a pretty minor thing in the scheme of things. Yes, I have thought of shrinking my head, but my brain is pretty cramped to begin with. Somebody needs to invent glasses that clip on to your helmet or running cap!

You can just PM me if you don't want to shout out that you have an abundance of face...I look like the ironman symbol...a couple of skinny lines with big period on top...

Thanks,
jm

Have you tried Rudy Project? Their Sportmask is pretty versatile and fits alot of different sizes (still look kinda goofy IMO, but we're running around in spandex, so who am I to talk?).

Otherwise gas station glasses are pretty good, too!

I've got an enormous head, and I found the Oakley Flak Jackets in the "asian fit" fit me quite well (and, no, I'm not asian).  Oakley's website lists the differences, but in general they seem a bit wider.

Big mellon here, and I like M-frames. They seem to be built for a bigger head than most Oakleys, they don't exert much pressure if they are a little small, and they stretch over time. I like the wide coverage on the bike, they don't move when I run, and the optics are great. Not cheap but I have had the same pair for several years.

My husband has a very large head and wears the Oakley Radars.  The Rudy Project Sportmask also fit him.

I found the Oakleys small for me also.  I ended up with Native Eyewear.  I use the Hardtop XP and have several lens for them.  They also work great on the water.
