Subject: Recommend pool and spin classes in Sunnyvale area
Hello California, 

I will be spending a couple of weeks in Sunnyvale, CA in May.  (Right during my peak build for Ironman CdA.  Sigh.)

Can anyone local out there recommend someplace I can swim (50 meter would be great, but will take whatever) and, I guess, take some spin classes (not able to bring bike).

And, of course, any good run routes.

I'll be staying right around 237 and 101.

Any help would be appreciated!

I swim at Fremont High School in Sunnyvale. California Sports Center runs a swim program there. They have lap swimming and several classes for adult swimmers including a masters swim class. You can buy a punch card or a monthly pass or pay a drop-in rate.

Most of the 24 hour fitness gyms have spinning classes, and a 25 meter pool. Not sure how much daily rates are, but if you do a brick it may be cost effective. FYI not all have a pool so you should go to their webstie and check out the locations and see what each has and times of the classes.

As for runs you have some good options.

Dirt Trails:

Rancho San Antonio Park: My favorite, lots of climbing available. Further away then the Baylands, but worth it.

Concrete Trails:
Stevens Creek Trail in Mountain View
San Tomas Aquino/Saratoga Creek Trail in Santa Clara
Los Gatos Creek Trail
