I live over on the far eastern side of Thornton, out near I76.  I'm looking for some people to ride with, but feel like I just live in the wrong town to find that without having to drive 20+ minutes to join a group.  I'm not the fastest and still working on my distance, but I could hang with 16mph for 20-30miles if I'm with a group (and I'll even take some turns pulling).

Does anyone know of any shops or groups that meet up in the Thornton/NorthGlenn/Brighton area that have a "slower group" I can join until I build up to the faster group?  I'm in the 112th - Colorado Blvd area.

I don't know of any---yet.  But I'm in Broomfield, bit closer to Boulder o'course, I've heard good things about Team Evergreen.  I've only done one groups ride so far, I'm slow too. This forum, CO specifically, lotsa BTers post when they're gonna group ride.

Didn't help much did I?  Just keep an eye out I guess is what I'm sayin'.

Rocky Mountain Cycling Club has group rides in that area (e.g. Wagon Road PNR)

Good luck finding one. I haven't been able to find one and I live up in Erie. I have tried to ride with several of the Lafayette bike shops and they go a little faster than I want but you might be able to keep up. I think there was a thread on this forum about people riding out of Westminster.

FYI for anyone else that might be interested in something in the area also.  I stopped by a little shop (physically little, but jam packed with bikes) yesterday on 104th between Grant and Washington, Derby Bicycle Shop.  They said they do group rides that leave the shop at 10am on Sundays.  They were busy so I didn't get any details about what kind of pace they do or how far of a ride, but it's an option.  I wish it was on Saturday, but I should be able to make it out with them in a few weeks and will try to remember to give an update on what kind of pace/distances they do.

I'm in Broomfield (120 and Sheridan) and tried to get something together last month or so but didn't get many bites.

I'd still like to get out and ride some, but I'm also currently in peak marathon training, so I'm pretty much limited to every other Sunday, and I'm supposed to take it easy at that.

I drive past there on my way to and from work.  Also go to the 14Hour Fitness near there.

If anything ever comes up, send me a PM.
