Pricing right on the website..

http://www.rev3tri.com/!/cedarPoint/registration.htm

it is a bit hard to navigate to find this stuff. As you click on things, the links on left change (looks similar but the words/links do change.

I just called Hotel Breakers. They don't take reservations until January but they took my contact info and said they could hold 2 rooms for me.

ericcooper - 2009-09-01 6:10 PM Well, I went ahead and booked a few rooms at the Breakers.  Looks like I'm really going to do this!

Did they let you make an actual reservation?

Yep, they let me make the actual reservations.  At first they said that they didn't have room rates set yet, bu then I told them that I was going to be there for the triathlon.  They had room rates for that and booked 2 for me right then.  My dad called a few days later and told them the same thing and was able to book a room for himself too.

Maybe try calling at a different time of the day - maybe you can get someone else on the line....or tell them that you know someone who did reserve rooms, gave a credit card and got a confirmation number.  Heck, they even charged me 50% already.

OMG, I did it!  I made a rez!!!
You know what this means now?  I have to do it

The king bed rooms are $120.  Two doubles are much more.  The cottages are $185, but sleep more folks.  I was dying to know how much the other properties/rooms were, but I didn't want to badger the lady.

Just FYI, I was chatting with her and she said they had quite a number of reservations already considering it was a year out!!

The took my CC# and charged 1 night (which I don't care really) cancellable from today till 3 days out.  I know, I know, they have my money for a year, but whatev.  It's a great deal on the room considering regular rates are close to $250.

If you are thinking of doing it, and you already know that I am thinking of doing it... our significant others will not really be likely to accompany us, so if you'd like to share a room let me know.   I'll bring the nipples!

Yes dear, you are MUCH younger! Laughing  I suppose I should try and use cool and hip terms instead of ones from the 1800's in describing my youth! Hee hee!

ericcooper - 2009-09-01 6:10 PM Well, I went ahead and booked a few rooms at the Breakers.

I called back. They do have my name & number in the system. And they gave me a confirmation number (both over the phone and in a email) but they refuse to give me a price or take my credit card number. So... I'm happy! I've got 2 rooms at the "normal" rate and can cancel at any time for free.

OMG, I did it!  I made a rez!!!

Okay, Andrea, you are infectious with your enthusiasm.  I booked a double at Breakers for 2 nights ($195 for both nights).  They didn't need 1 night payment, its not required until Jan. 31, to hold.  After that Jan 31 payment is made then there is a $50 cancellation fee.   Interesting how I got  different story than you?   (double more expensive, and can cancel until 3 days before without penalty).  Any way, it might be doable as a goal and I have until Jan 31 to decide if I want to pull that trigger.

And if the hubby doesn't want to join me, then I'll have an extra bed if anyone wants to share.
