Lincoln Half Marathon - Run

Run
Comments: This was my fist half marathon so I was not sure what to expect. I was very pleased with my run. It was also the first run of this size I have run so I was amazed at how quick the miles were moving by. With all of the people around it seemed that we were still in the early pack. In the other runs I have done you end up spending most of the time running alone or with only one or to others near by. It took a while to realize that I would always be running with 20 to 30 other runners within a few strides. What would you do differently?: Start closer to the 8 minute pace marker. I was unsure what to expect so I started at the back half of the 8 minute group and it seemed to hold me back early. Drive the course to have an idea of what to expect. Post race
Warm down: Light streching and looking for family. What limited your ability to perform faster: Would have liked to had a little more rest on Saturday. 7 hours walking at the Omaha Zoo was not smart. Also prevented me from getting a decent lunch. Also wish I had at least driven the course before hand. Fortunate that there were no real hills to be concerned with. Event comments: Was very pleased with the nuber of people out to support the race. It was a very cool morning but there were still lots of people out cheering and providing support for the runners.
