Comments:

Achilles was nagging me a bit this week so I decided to go ahead and run the 5K but at a tempo effort. During a pre-race conversation Mr. Byram and I discussed his burning desire to set a PR and break 18:00, which sounded like a good tempo pace for me, so I volunteered to pace him. Worked out perfect for me, leg seemed to hold up just fine, the run itself felt no harder than a tempo effort and downright easy at times, and Art came oh-so-close to breaking 18:00. Finishing in 18:08 he still set a PR but just missed the sub-18 barrier. But a nice long warmup for me and a comfortable tempo pace during the race.
