Since it looks like the BT-MI Rawk Squad will have a nice presence at the the Detroit Freep (Half) Marathon, I thought we should go ahead and get the official thread started!!!

Who's going?? Let's hear everyone's plans.

kzoojason76 - Half
jameski20 - Half
TrishM - Half
MIKEWOODS - Full
})i({RunnerGirl - Full Relay
gir1with1nose - Half
spartn1 - Full

We are kicking around the idea of getting a room at the RenCen for Saturday Night.  Anyone else staying downtown?

I plan to stay downtown somewhere.  I'm going to try to split a room with 1 or more runners.  This is my first week of a 13 week training program that supposedly will have me ready to run my first full marathon.  I'm excited to say the least.  I still have the Legend 10 mile trail run and Dances with Dirt in Hell coming up along with a probable Oly length Lansing Legislator Tri, but the marathon is what I have my sights on.

I think I am in for the full deal. It will be my first and I will probably find a friend or relatives couch to crash on.

If none of my work parking lots are close, I have two parking spot available.  one in Compuware (which I am using), and one in Rencen (lot D) which I can share.

I will be parking at Compuware.  Anyone want to carpool at the west side let me know.

btw I am doing a Full.   My A race this year.

Like GW1N, I'll be looking for a parking spot although I think I'll be staying somewhere downtown.

Where are you staying in downtown?  If you are staying in the core, I think its easier to walk than driving that morning.

If she not using it I can give you my parking pass.

I don't have a hotel reservation yet, and I do plan to walk to the start if I stay right downtown, but I don't think any of the hotels downtown include parking.  If someone has a pass they aren't using it'd be helpful...

This will be one that I will be resident cheerleader! I have a good friend doing her first half -- thought about running it, but decided some sideline support's the way to go, with camera in tow!

If you want company, I am probably going to be there to cheer on TrishM, who is doing her first HM also,  and everyone else.

I'm torn, I'd really like to step it up and do the full, but a recent lack of training has me leaning toward the 1/2.  Regardless I will be there for one or the other.

I just started my "official" training last night with a very slow 4 mile run in new shoes which I decided were too small about 2.3 miles into the run.  You've gotta be in better shape than I am.  I hope you decide to do the full.  Maybe you can help coax along slow people like me!
