Bridgeland will be my first tri. How many others are participating? Going as spectators?

I am registered as a Clyde under 40.

You know I'll be there.  This is my first Athena race.  They have categories for under 40 and over 40 so I guess us 40 year olds have our own cat???

I am excited and know it will be a blast but the point to point swim has me a bit geeked!

I will be there as well.  I have a good friend that lives in the neighborhood and he will be entering too.  I am looking forward to it.  Also, in case you didn't know, the website has updated info and other things posted.

Evondo,

How will you see everyone out there? Did you get rear view mirrors installed on your bike?

More like rear view mirror somehow attached to his swim cap Smile  That's ok he can cheer us on after his massage with beer in hand while we're getting on our bikes.

I'm more in need of a GPS system so I stay on course

Your logs are looking strong, you have some major bike mileage under your belt! Enjoy your first tri!

Speaking of beer Keri... anyone know if they're going to have any at this race? Past few I've been deprived of a post race beer!

i'll be there.  i'm signed up to race but i'm coming off the disabled list this monday so i've gotta get my arse in gear.  3 1/2 weeks off is no bueno.  if for some reason i decide not to race, i'll be volenteering.  i'm really looking forward to it either way!!

anyone know anything about the lake that we'll be swimming in?  i've never been there before.  is it a typical subdivision retention lake where it's about 20-30 acres and about 4ft deep all the way around?

i'm hoping to make it out there next weekend to scope it out.

I'll be there, this will be my first ever Tri. It wouldnt bother me one bit if this thing is only 4ft deep all the way around.  I would doubt it though.  I'm not the strongest swimmer.  We shall see how it goes.

I am really feeling good about this race. My cycling has come a long way. I'm running 6&change miles. My swimming still needs to come together, though. Hopefully it will be a beautiful day.

My friend that lives in Bridgeland said that it is shallow.  He has gone swimming in it, even though they prohibit it.  I have only seen it.  He told me on Monday that he actually swam out quite a ways and stood up, but he is 6'2".  So take that for what it is worth.  Maybe all the tall people can run the swim route.

I am pretty sure Michelob Ultra is one of the sponsors so that is good news.  Regardless I will be providing beer via cooler on wheels to make up for shrugging my beer duties at the Flatlands last weekend.

i guess being able to stand isn't a bad thing, especially for first timers in OW.

if it's that shallow, i bet the water's gonna pretty pretty dern warm.  i just hope it's cleaner than the water in my hood.  there's always storm debris in it.

either way, i'm sure it will be fun.

I am sure Fattyfatfat can serve as the beer dood, since I don't think he is racing...  If he can't handle it, I will provide!  Any other flavors besides Cold or Free?

Bridgeland has added another 100 spots of which 40 are remaining. Still time to register if you haven't.
