Please Help:  There are 237  pages of info here and I'm not that good with the search features. I am not racing this year.
I want to register on line for 2011. From what I saw on the website registration, for those like me, starts at Noon on Monday. Will it sell out instantly? Do I have to be in panic mode?

Thank You in advance.

2008 and prior, it would sell out in the on-site registration. Never made it to the web signup.
Last year, it made it to the web, and if I remember correctly it was open for something like 30 minutes. My guess is it'll be something similar.

So...no panic, but don't take too much time...

For anyone interested in a photo of the swim start I ran into a lady selling poster size photos across from the Golden Arrow. She also has some photos displayed in "The Fallen Arch"shoe store in town. She can make them in any size you want. Her website is: www.trilifephotos.com. She will be at the start again this year.

Water temp was beautiful! Swam 1 loop myself and met up with the BT crew.

I have a short run on today and then down time. Athelete dinner meet-ups are hard, but I will probably head down with Tasr (James). Hope to meet more of you later.

Missed you guys at the swim. I didnt get there till 7:30 but I figured I could catch you guys after you came out of the water so I didn't go in till 8. At that point I figured I missed you. What great energy at the lake this morning. Really exciting. May or may not make the dinner tonight. We'll see. May just lay low here at the house and work on my transition bags. Ok, at first I just wrote bags but that didn't sound right so I added the transition in there.

scottgreenstone - 2010-07-23 12:02 PM anyone know what the dress code is for the dinner/meeting tonight?

Compression socks, speedo, crocs, and HRM.  Otherwise, no admittance.

In seriousness, whatever you want.  Most people will wear t-shirts and shorts/jeans.  Some people wear shirts with buttons.  Whatever you are comfortable in.

It's a bit chilly after the sun goes down, so I'm probably going to wear jeans and a fleece!

Motel room maybe available at Brookside Motor Inn in Upper Jay.

Well, unfortunately I'm not there with you guys like I had hoped one year ago.  I've posted before here that I learned in January I have a small, benign (won't spread) brain tumor (acoustic neuroma).  It's near my brainstem and, therefore, causes problems with balance and hearing.  I had Cyberknife radiation treatment in March, and have issues with blood pressure, vision problems, and vertigo since.  Did a couple triathlons and an iron distance swim in May/June, but had some medical issues after these events and am waiting to get stronger before competing.  I can barely train, mostly just swim.

While swimming this morning, I thought of you BTers at IMLP.  I remembered how I wasn't certain if I wanted to do IMFL 2008.  At the time, I thought, "Well, it's kind of early in my triathlon experience, but I'm on a roll so I'll do it."  Let me tell you what, I'm glad I did IMFL, because sometimes you only get one shot.

I'm a little too sad about the whole thing to have followed you much here.  To show how ambivalent I am, I waited until the last week to cancel my motel reservation.  An el cheapo in Upper Jay, but a Mom & Pops place where I stayed many years back, and have happy memories of.  She didn't charge me a penalty, and I told her I'd post the room here.

This post has been kind of unnecessarily depressing, I think.  I have reached a couple of my season goals - to place in one of my local triathlons (got third in May on my 12th attempt), and to improve my swim time in a sprint.  Wasn't sure if I'd try to register for IMLP 2011, but I've decided to shoot for IMLP 2012 with a long-term 2 year plan!  Good luck to you all, and you know I'll be thinking about you.  Hope you reach your goals, but if you don't, just finish the race and remember that, this year, I can't.  Do it because you can.

At the Expo today (Fri) they announced that if you don't have a ticket to the dinner tonight they were sold out and would have no extras at the door. That was different from the IMLP website, but they announced it more than once. Good luck everyone.  Jim

What?  That blows chunks.

Now I gotta make other dinner plans.

Thanks IM, for inviting 3000 people plus guests to dinner and not preparing enough food.

Hey all! Bummed I missed the a.m. swim but we got in really late last night!

Mirjam, Kelley and I are swimming tomorrow, SATURDAY, at 8am

(had to put the day of the week because this thread is going so fast it's hard to keep track!).  I'll plan on wearing a BT trisuit.

For tonight... Mirjam, Kelley, Rob and I are planning on eating together.  Kelley and I are planning on getting to the horse grounds around 5:30pm.  I'll have on a light grey CRANE BEACH LIFEGUARD sweatshirt.  My # is six zero seven 743 six eight four eight if you'd like to eat together! Just put your name & BT name in the text. =

Coredump and Whizzzz - Come on over!  The boyfriend and I are ordering our usual Friday night pizza.

Oh wait...probably not good 36 hours before an IM, huh?

Seriously though, if you're looking for pasta/simple carbs, the best place in town (in my opinion) is Mr. Mike's.  Just FYI.

I'll likely join you for 8:00 swim.  I'll have a two piece de-soto suit and will only have the bottoms on while I'm just standing there.  I plan to swim about 1/4 mile with the top and a 1/4 mile without it before I make my final decision.  I'll be looking for a BT tri suit!

SWEEEEEEEEEET!!!

BTW-it was awesome meeting the BT folks last night! Thank you swishyskirt for being an uber cyber stalker and having a KEENE (ha!) eye to pick out the others.  I found my husband at the brewery last night and didn't rejoin the group.  Oops!

Good luck everyone tomorrow!!!
