Subject: Problem I NEVER thought I'd ever have
Okay last week I was getting a little burned out, this week I am totally stoked for my last race of the season Sept 13 W/burg sprint. My times are great (for me) My workouts have been outstanding this week, everything is jelling just right.
Heres the problem All season long I have been training for this to be my last race of the year. Well know I don't want it to be. I had planned on beginning my off season training, Keep my base work on some light weights, some Yoga and increase my run for next years Oly.

Am I crazy to want to do one or maybe two more this year?
I can do a race in October ( Midlothian) with my wife as a relay (Me S/R her B), I could do it by myself.  Of course I could just be a volunteer for this one. And there is a 5k run in Va Beach in November.

I don't think this will hurt my training for next year, but I don't want to do so much that I get completley burned out.

Advice anyone

haha.  Same boat here.  I was kind of just doing Timberman and then doing a sprint for fun next week.  Now, I'm training harder and wanting the season to keep going.  Running a half marathon to get my running up to snuff for next season...but I'm just excited to start next season way way better off than this first season to see where I can get to.

Alot of people I know think I've sort of stopped working out just because I finished Timberman...I'm like, you just don't get it do you....

edit:  I also admittedly looked online this AM when I got to work to see if there was another HIM I could locally before the season ends

Hey, I'm not an addict.  I could quit whenever I want to.  Really.  I just don't want to.  Oh, and can anybody here spare $50 for a race entry fee um, er, bus ride.

If you think that qualifies as crazy, 95% of the people here should have been hauled off to the looney bin long ago.

Sign up, go have fun!

That's the time of year you divert race fees to purchase new equipment!

I end my season this weekend and already have a run race and a bike race the following weekend.  As long as the event looks fun just call it "training" if that makes you feel better and have at it.  You can't really burn out having fun can you?   Once it stops being fun take a break.

lol.. reason came over me this year..

I had planned on doing an off-road half mary, and 4 off road 10 milers, but scrapped the half-mary and will be doing the short distance on the off road series.
