18 year old guy, starting to Tri.

 11 |  Subject: 18 year old guy, starting to Tri.So I am going on a mission for my church (I'm LDS), in about a year, and I am currently working to save up my money for that, and I don't have much to keep me busy for the next year before I leave except work. My boss told me about triathlons and it sounds awesome! I bought a cheap bike (fuji newest 3.0), and have been swimming and running. First tri is in Casa Grande, AZ in a couple months! Any other young people getting into the sport? |

I'm 17 and have been in the sport for about year and at all the races I've been to there have been just a few. Oh well, makes it easier to get an age group award! Welcome and good luck! |

But yeah, I'm hoping to win the 16-19 AG at this sprint, but we'll see. I've never done anything like it, and it might be way harder than i expect. |

Keep an eye out on Arizona page - we have a fairly active group doing group rides and runs, although a lot of us are preparing for Ironman Arizona, so the training sessions are crazy long right now! But a lot of times you can join in for just one loop or part of the ride or run. What tri are you doing in Casa Grande? |

Member 23 | Subject: RE: 18 year old guy, starting to Tri. i turned 18 in july im starting to train also :D gonna do a half ironman but i dont know which one. i got the running part down, in highschool i did a 3.2mile course in 15:53 and a half marathon at 6:29 pace. bikings not bad either i think im going fast but i dont know for sure ;D swimming i suck at  haha |
