Pre-race routine:

breakfast of cereal and banana. minimal streching since i did not start until 40 minutes after the first. chatted with others, came up very fast. meant to do streches, but before i knew it i had to jump in pool. very nervous, did not sleep well.
Swim
  • 09m 16s
  • 300 yards
  • 03m 05s / 100 yards
What would you do differently?:

control from the beginning, get at least some streches in.
Transition 1
  • 02m 56s
Comments:

had to slip on sandals as 200 meter run to T1 area over rocks. went very well, no wet suit to remove, bike shorts did get caught on one foot, but every thing went smooth.
What would you do differently?:

run to area and out of area with bike. hop on bike instead of stopping and getting on.
Bike
  • 51h 07m 10s
  • 12 miles
  • 0.23 mile/hr
Comments:

felt good, never that i was pushing too much. was able to pass a couple people but was negatively passed as well. ate a bar, that was awful. towards end at a gel, that was just if not more awful, for energy in the run. had to constantly remind myself to drink. drank less then half the bottle.
What would you do differently?:

drink more. use all gears
Transition 2
  • 52m 25s
Comments:

stopped bike before getting off. need to find shorts i can wear for bike and run
What would you do differently?:

learn to jump of moving bike
Run
  • 35m 40s
  • 5 miles
  • 07m 08s  min/mile
Comments:

very hard to go from bike to run. my legs did not want to move more then an inch or two and then my shins seized up. they gave me so much pain. had no energy and needed to walk most of it. was albe to run 100 meters, then walk 200. finally felt better at last quarter mile and able to run well then.
What would you do differently?:

i don't know
Post race
Warm down:

walked around, drinking lots,

What limited your ability to perform faster:

my endurance, not pushing myself harder in the run.

Event comments:

exact same course will be done in july, will try it again then.

my first tri, after preparing for 4 months and I still did terrible. i was down for a couple hours and thought, i am never doing this again. i got over that though, and am now already looking forward to my next. i just tell myself, i have lived a sedentary life for 30 years, i can't expect to reverse that in 4 months. plus, i think some people get physically fit easier then others. for me, it will be hard, always. but that makes the end result that much better right?
