Subject: Swim wear in Toronto
Hi everyone

Could someone point me to a store in the downtown Toronto area that would carry athletic swim wear for men? It would seem there's a lack of retailers carrying trully athletic swim wear in the area, all i've been able to find are the surfer type shorts that feel like parachutes in the pool.

There's nothing in the Eaton Centre, i tried sports check, they at least carry swim caps, goggles, etc. I've bought a pair of Tri shorts online but the fit left something to be desired, so i rather check things out in person

Failing the downtown area, what about something close?

Thanks everyone

What about checking with the swim team at your pool?  I buy my suits from them.  High quality polyester speedo suits at half the price I'd get them at a store... plus you can often order stuff if you request it when they are putting their order in....

Team Aquatic is awesome.

Try Swim and Sports in Mississauga http://swimandsports.com/layoutpage.htm a bit of a drive, but they've got a good selection and they're geared to swimmers. Have you tried Water Sports on Yonge just south of Eglinton? http://www.watersportsscuba.com/aquatics/aquatics.html

kimmax - 2009-11-01 10:32 PM Maybe Sporting Life?

This is where i went last winter and found women's sport suits and I stocked up.

It's not downtown but north of Yonge and Eg - big store.

I managed to pick up a nice suit at the Nike store on Bloor. Check the clearance racks.

Thank you everyone for the tips. At your direction I popped into Sporting Life 2 days ago and picked up a square leg Speedo (last one in my size). I did my drills at the gym pool yesterday and i felt like i was glidding. I also picked up a set of Speedo plastic earplugs, they're horrible thought (too long). I'm going back to the cheap foam as i can't get the sylicone type to mold properly to my mutant ears either

Shilster: I'm actually at the Starbucks beside (almost) the Bloor Nike store right now, i may just pop in after i'm done on the laptop/with the coffee

Cheers!

What about Endurosport? Do they sell this stuff?
They're kind of east. There really aren't any good swim stores downtown.

Another one is Aquapark in Richmond hill - 20% discount to any members of competitive swim teams.
